In addition to excellent size and electric speed off the snap, what stands out about Axson is his ability to overwhelm the opposition in the pocket and get to the quarterback. I also like how Axson can read the offense like a book, showcasing his ability to disrupt the rush in the pocket with his aggression and stopping power.

rnAnother skilled prospect is , a linebacker at Bowling Green High School. Axson impresses me due to his physicality and stopping power, showcasing his ability to slip past the offensive line, apply heavy defensive pressure and sack the quarterback. I also like how Axson can drop the running back, utilizing bursts of speed to collapse the pocket and catch the rush. Another aspect of Axson’s playstyle that made a difference last year was his ability to read the offense from along the edge and stop playmakers from reaching the backfield.

Another Bowling Green linebacker that stood out to me in last week’s win is Jayden Axson Jayden Axson 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Bowling Green | 2025 State KY . Jayden lined up at inside linebacker where he was very impressive against the run. He does a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill in a hurry to get to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he does a great job of running his feet through contact to secure the tackle and not allow for any extra yards to be gained. He finished the game with nine tackles and two tackles for loss. Axson also showed the ability to rush the passer, finishing the game with one sack. Jayden doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on as he has already received some college interest.

Jayden had an impressive performance for his Bowling Green High School defense. Playing against Greenwood High School, Jayden recorded 18 total tackles, including one for loss. Axson was all over the field last Friday. Jayden specializes in reading offensive schemes well and is always in the right spots to make a defensive stop. Also, Axson has great acceleration to spread his defensive perimeter to cover more ground than a traditional linebacker. Acquiring a linebacker who can cover across the field is crucial for building an elite defensive unit, and schools will see the value in Jayden for that same purpose. Keep an eye out for Jayden in the upcoming postseason matchups.
