Continue ReadingThe PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp Tour pulled into New Jersey last weekend for one of two camps, on our final camp weekend of the spring season. Unlike the rainy weather outside, the camp inside the bubble was hot and nearly 90 middle school athletes from various states got a ton of work in. The running back group featured some of the top backs from throughout the Tri-State Area and in that group, were a couple guys who can play some other positions too. Here’s a look at the top performing running back’s from the camp.
In my opinion, Bala is one of the top three running back’s in the this 2027 class from the state of New York. Possesses one of the most admirable work ethic’s I’ve seen in the country. A standout basketball player and amateur boxer, he has attended two previous PRZ Next Camp’s and finally broke through to win the RB MVP award. Now up to 5-foot-10 and 165-ripped-pounds, the defending New York Catholic League State Champion St. Anthony’s Friars.
It had been more than a year since I last saw Nehki Martin Nehki Martin 5’9″ | 150 lbs | WR Paramus Catholic | 2027 State NJ play live, and the 2027 New Jersey athlete has only gotten better. Up to 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds now, coaches and scouts wanted him in the best-vs-best round at both running back and defensive back. Due to matchups, we slotted him in as a running back but he truly is an athlete and has 4.7 forty speed to boot. He’s currently undecided on a high school for next year, but regardless, he’s an Athlete that earned a spot on the 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist with a strong performance.
St. Thomas Aquinas (NJ) finished with a 9-2 record a year ago and will get set to welcome Chukwuma Odoh Chukwuma Odoh 5’11” | 185 lbs | LB St. Thomas Aquinas | 2027 State NJ as a freshman in the fall. Odoh attended the PRZ Next Camp in January as a linebacker opened a lot of eyes. He was back last weekend, this time as a running back, and again got the job done. He’s just starting to scratch the surface of how good he’s going to be on both sides of the ball. At 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds with muscle, length and 4.8 speed in the forty–my money is on a game-changing linebacker. He’s a 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist athlete.
