Freshman quarterbacks, some of which played JV last season, while some were Varsity backups who found their way on the fields to get some reps and film out there. While one experienced a whole season starting under center and set the expectation for this Freshman quarterback class, which looks very impressive, just like the 2025 group. Either way, most of these guys are in line to start this season or are in potential competitions to start.
Perhaps the highest ceiling amongst this group Marcus Snipes Jr Marcus Snipes Jr 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB Shaker | 2026 State NY will step into a full time starting role for Shaker this fall. Shaker is usually a run-first offense but with Snipes Jr’s arm talent they may develop a very pass happy offense. Snipes Jr has all the traits from the recruitable measurables and the arm talent to make all the throws at every level. Snipes Jr has been dominating the 7v7 circuit where I have heard from scouts who I have good relationships with that his accuracy and poise are well developed traits that not many high school quarterbacks have. Snipes Jr has the arm, measurables, and athleticism to be a top QB coming out of New York.
Another Quarterback with extremely high potential Justus Murray Jr Justus Murray Jr 5’11” | 170 lbs | QB Erasmus Hall | 2026 State NY out of Erasmus Hall is a dynamic dual threat who can make an impact with his legs in Erasmus Hall’s dominant running game. As a passer, Murray has some solid arm talent and has the ability to make throws off platform and create from broken plays. Murray Jr will have time to develop and with a run-first offense won’t be asked to carry the team on his shoulders, something important for the development of your quarterbacks. A player to keep an eye on at a top program in the coming seasons.
Dominic Anzalone Dominic Anzalone 6’1″ | 205 lbs | QB Bishop Timon-St. Jude | 2026 State NY out of Bishop Timon/St. Jude is the only guy on this list with significant legit varsity experience. Anzalone was a full time starter and one of the best quarterbacks in western New York this fall. Anzalone does a really good job of consistently making plays that he should and even showcasing some really quality ball placement down the field. Anzalone is not a huge threat on the ground but he is a really good athlete who can move and adjust in the pocket or get some chunk yards past the line of scrimmage.

Sayville continues to develop really talented quarterbacks and Patrick Coan Patrick Coan 6’4″ | 185 lbs | QB Sayville | 2026 State NY is the next name to know. He won’t get a shot to start on varsity due to Sayville having one of the top quarterbacks in the state who returns after an undefeated season. That being said, Coan has the height and arm talent to be recruited at a high level. He has great arm strength and can make difficult throws off balance. He shows really solid pose in the pocket and the ability to escape sacks and pressure and still make throws down field. There may not be a quarterback who gets more velocity on his throws at this age than Coan does. A really solid prospect, who unfortunately we will not get to see a ton of varsity reps from until the 2024 fall season.

There is a consistent archetype of quarterbacks that come out of long island of very athletic QBs with cannons attached their body. Dylan Fella Dylan Fella 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Plainedge | 2026 State NY fits that mold, he is a little smaller but athletically he lined up at both RB and QB showcasing his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands as a runner. Most of his tape so far is at running back or with the ball in his hands on QB runs but there is good buzz around him as a quarterback coming from the island hence his inclusion here. His positional versatility is something that nobody else on this list has and we could see more of a RB or ATH designation at some point. But right now, Fella is a QB name to keep an eye out for.
