Despite the nasty weather, players were able to get acclimated for 3 practices on April 28th and 29th before going to war yesterday at Caravel Academy. There were a few prospects who passed the eye test, and by the third practice I felt good about who I anticipated on having a strong showing come game time.
This big time prospect has all the tangibles to play wherever he wants on the field. With that being said, I see him getting the ball in his hands early and often at receiver as his money maker. Even at safety he has great range, not to just cover opponents, but will make a play on the ball like the pass was intended for him in the first place. A dynamic athlete with a lot of potential who already holds offers.
When you think of a Quarterback, Jackson looks the part and has the arm to match. Right away I liked how he delivered the ball to his receivers from different angles. He picked up quickly who he could hang his throws deep to, trusting they will run under it or when to put it on them in a timing route. When its all said and done, Jackson will have some good choices to continue his career past high school.

I’m telling you right now, this kid is a DUDE! As he figures out what weight he wants to play at, you better figure out how to get away from him ball carriers. He is put together like a “Man Child”. Not only does he look and have the mechanics of a prototypical linebacker, he’s agile enough to track things down from the opposite gap. Butler has a feel for the game that just isn’t taught. I could see the wheels turning from play start to finish. I don’t see a ceiling for him!
Playmaker ability on both sides of the ball. Closes the gap when the ball is in the air and takes the right approach. He doesn’t catch it, nobody does. I like the pad level he plays with in and out of breaks with getting his eyes to the nose of the ball first with urgency.
Right away you have to question how an eighth-grader can be built the way he is. Maddox is put together nicely in a t-shirt, then things get spooky with pads on. Maryland has offered already and I could see glimpses in practice of his potential. At Defensive end he was comfortable shedding blocks with his hands and getting to the ball. It looked right when he was standing up on the edge, but I was wanting to see him get into a 3 point stance. It wouldn’t hurt having him walk off the bus first either.

When a BIG wears #0 in practice you have to pay attention. That I did! Amon has a solid foundation and he’s proportioned from his ankles up. He moved well all practice and I even liked seeing him penetrate the B gap playing some DT.
Paxton Randall | OLB | Black Team- A good cover LB. With the DL he was playing behind during practice, Paxton was able to get from point A to point B with bad intentions. It was good seeing him get vocal and be a leader at the second level.
CJ Lewis CJ Lewis 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL NJ | DT/OL | Black Team- Cj is top heavy with a little mean streak if you pay attention. Plays well behind his pads and is well over 6 foot. Has experience on both sides of the ball, but I wouldn’t bet my car on what side he wants to pursue at the next level. Definitely has some sharp knives in his draw, but I’m not confident in which way to slice him yet other than he has big potential.
Braelon Dorsey Braelon Dorsey 6'1" | 150 lbs | DB Boys Latin | 2027 State MD | ATH | Blue Team- This kid kept catching my attention at practice because he looks like a player. Then he backed it up in the situational drills. A smart player with good speed and hips. Got reps at receiver and Safety. His movements were natural at both. A prospect toward the top of my list I want to keep tabs on.
Cooper Ebeling | OL | Blue Team- Cooper will make his mark as an Offensive lineman in any system. During drills he played to the echo of the whistle and always made a habit to finish. You can tell he has had some good coaching, but his attitude is what separated him. Being one of the bigger kids on probably every team he’s played on, I can see him migrating to Guard if his height only reaches another inch or two. Either way its good to play all positions upfront and I think this kid could play interior if asked.
