The Tigers have their quarterback of the future in 2027 signal caller, Jareth Staine Jr. The 6-foot, 160-pounder picked up his first offer from Boston College this past May. If you’re looking for a comparison, look no further than former Springfield Central signal caller and current Virginia Tech incoming freshman, William “Pop” Watson III.

I think Clayter has a shot to be a good player for the foreseeable future in Texas high school football and beyond. Right around that 6-foot, 175-pound mark. Spent this year playing Quarterback in what appeared to be a “get the ball into the hands of your best player” situation but I’m listing him as an ATH. He’ll be at Shoemaker High School in Killeen in the fall.
Montoya is a nice-looking 2027 prospect out of Broomfield, Colorado, located less than a half our from Denver. At 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds he has good size for an athlete getting ready to graduate the eighth grade. Doesn’t have elite speed or quickness right now but is big, patrols a lot of ground as a safety and has very dependable hands. If the next-level speed doesn’t develop during high school, I would be interested to see him as an Outside Linebacker/Tight End too. Certainly worth taking an extended look here.

Edwards looks like a special athlete that coaches should take a look at early for the class of 2027. In fact, in my opinion, he’s a prospect that should get an offer early in the process. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound multi-sport athlete checks a lot of boxes physically. Has a lean, muscular build and runs a 4.62 in the forty yard dash. Has already started to receiver some college attention, namely an invite to the Eastern Kentucky University spring game. Look for him to do special things as a Quarterback Ironton High School in Ohio over the next four years.
Certainly not a well-kept secret by any stretch of the imagination, but Florida 2027 prospect Champ Smith can play some football. The eighth-grader has tacked on 15 pounds of good weight since the fall and is up to 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds right now. Playing against athletes four-to-five school classes older than him last year, the Jupiter Christian quarterback tallied All-County and All-State honors. His recruiting is also picking up, already holding offers from Western Kentucky University, Western Michigan and Charlotte. Not bad for a kid who will only be a freshman this upcoming season.
