Prep Redzone has the details...

Justin Content - DB - Mill Creek

One of the more underrated defensive backs in Gwinnett County, the playmaking defender is coming off a strong junior season where he helped lead Mill Creek to an impressive 7A state champion. The 6-foot-1 170-pounder reads the QB well in coverage, shows good ball skills, and knows how to make a big tackle when he needs too. Playing on a loaded Mill Creek defense, Content stood out in a major way, making 57 tackles, one sack and three INTs, with one coming in the 7A state championship win. His recruitment is finally starting to heat up, and he recently added offers from Akron and Austin Peay, Air Force, Coastal Carolina, among others so far in May. He's quick, instinctive against the run, and can make a pivotal tackle in the open field. He showed easy D1 talent and will likely see more offers come his way this summer. Look for him to possible get some touches on offense as well in the fall as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='627985' first='Israel' last='Boyce'] - Douglas County

An extremely talented and versatile defensive back who can play safety, cornerback, or nickel, Boyce is a playmaking defensive back with D1-caliber ball skills and cover skills. Boyce has decent size at 6-foot-0 180-pounds who brings a tough, physical presence to the Douglas County secondary. He shows quick feet, changes directions well, and knows how to leap into the air to come down with a tough catch down the field. He's an above average athlete and it translated into a big junior season where he made 50 solo tackles, five PBUs, four INTs, and two forced fumbles. A turnover machine and easy ball magnet, Boyce was all over the field last year and earned First Team All Region and First Team All County honors last year as a junior. He's had a big month of May on thee recruiting trail, adding offers from Houston, App State, James Madison and Memphis. He's one of the top defensive backs in the Atlanta area and bound for a monster senior season in 2023.

Grant Laskey - TE - Lowndes

An under the radar tight end in South Georgia, the big 6-foot-5 230-pounder has D1 caliber size and knows how to reel in a big catch in the middle of the field. As a junior last fall, Laskey showed the ability to run block, using his leverage to blow defenders back off the ball. He's a big target in the passing game with soft hands who can be tough to bring down by just one defender. He was used more as a physical blocker last year, opening up plenty of holes to the Lowndes backs to run through. Look for him to be more of a weapon in the passing game as a senior next fall. The Lowndes Vikings have a new staff running the program, and they'll look to take advantage of every weapon offensively. The promising tight end has seen new offers come his way this month from Columbia, FAU, Memphis, Georgia State, among others. Look for him to have a breakout senior season for a Viking program looking to get back to their winning ways.
