In this report, I will review the 2022 season highlight film and give a short analysis of each of the newly Top ranked recruits we have identified as “Defensive Lineman” and who are battling in the trenches and attend high school in Massachusetts.
Tommy Rupley Tommy Rupley 6’4″ | 250 lbs | DL Belmont Hill | 2025 State NewE He is ranked as the #1 class of 2025 “Defensive Lineman” in Massachusetts and also the # 3 ranked “Defensive Lineman” in the New England. He attends Belmont Hill in Massachusetts.
College coaches are looking for specific things. The first thing, whether a recruit is 320 pounds or 260 pounds playing defensive line, is first step quickness. The recruit must have to be able to get off the ball quick enough to keep the offensive linemen away from himself. Keep their big old paws off the DL, so that the DL can have a chance to get to where he has got to be. “Rupley” is a great example of this and his recruitment thus far is surely showing just that. He is a edge player with a motor and can produce. His quickness/speed pops on film. He also has very good quickness, strength at point of attack, elite lateral quickness and balance, excellent power -speed or edge rush, and pursuit and effort.
He is a projected Div 1 recruit that already has power 5 offers.

Rylan Shibley Rylan Shibley 6’2″ | 235 lbs | DL Williston Northampton | 2025 State NewE He is ranked as the #2 class of 2025 “Defensive Lineman” in Massachusetts and also the # 4 ranked “Defensive Lineman” in the New England.
He attends Williston Northampton in Massachusetts. You know, the characteristic that I love in defensive linemen more than anything is effort. It’s hair on fire, nasty, chasing the ball sideline to sideline, and never ever giving up. That’s a defensive lineman. You may not be as fast as the next guy, but you have that effort and you can make plays. “Shibley is an excellent example of this. His clips defines short area quickness. motor, and explosion off the ball with consistent efforts. He doesn’t quit with his effort until the whistle is blown. Has very impressive sideline to sideline lateral quickness.
He has earned a Div 1 offer from in state Umass in June 2022. He also has interests from, Boston College and UConn. He will get additional college interest and offers this 2023 spring and summer camp season.

Ben Howard IV Ben Howard IV 6’4″ | 230 lbs | DL Malden Catholic | 2025 State NewE He is ranked as the #3 class of 2025 “Defensive Lineman” in Massachusetts and also the # 5 ranked “Defensive Lineman” in the New England. He attends Malden Catholic in Massachusetts.
Our Northeast Director Vic Castillo evaluated “Howard” and stated the following: Although no full-season tape is on record yet, Ben Howard proved his early top-30 rank to be a sufficient one. 6’4, 225, cut-up, muscular build that helps the Malden Catholic sophomore work anywhere inside the defensive line. Exemplary get-off, Howard often leaves slow guard reaching when jumping the snap from his IDL position. His closing speed to the football after shedding is a plus. His motor is a plus, often seen downfield or near the boundary making stops. One of the few underclassmen I’ve come across that could be a factor in both pass-rush and run-stopping games. His future will sway based on how his body frame continues to develop. The tape and production will only get better.
I expect him to make some noise during the 2023 summer college camp season that should ignite his recruitment interest.
