2025 Defensive Lineman Ben Howard Ben Howard 6'3" | 190 lbs | ATH Benched - St Marks | 2025 New E from Malden Catholic picked up his first Div 1 offer from Central Connecticut on 9/26/24. Howard is known to be very strong and quick, and his physical hands are mixed with speed, making him an absolute threat coming off the edge. New England area scouts have raved over this play in an off-season evaluation camp environment. He surely deserves a closer look from many D1 schools. HUDL

One of the better New England prospects currently unoffered. I remember liking Ben Howard Ben Howard 6'3" | 190 lbs | ATH Benched - St Marks | 2025 New E ‘s tape years back, so much so that I ranked him inside the Top100. Howard is still close to that ranking now, proving that I’m not the only one intrigued by the 6’4, 225-pound DE/EDGE prospect. A Malden Catholic basketball player, worth mentioning.
Was hoping to see a first-three out of Howard on Hudl, that hasn’t come out quite yet. Howard has what looks like a couple of scrimmages posted on Hudl over a month ago. Howard also has a clip from this past weekend showcasing his prowess off the edge. Three sacks to his name, a PBU, some TFLs, I’ll be sure to post that clip below.

Ben Howard Ben Howard 6'3" | 190 lbs | ATH Benched - St Marks | 2025 New E was a rising Junior in the Fall of 2023. He stood out to me immediately with his Physique and after watching him move around during drill period i noticed he moves very fluid, has a good burst out of his stance and a nice looking bend on his pass rush. He has very strong , quick, and physical hands mixed with speed making him an absolute threat coming off the edge. This kid deserves a closer look from coaches. I honestly dont know how he doesnt have any offers yet. He possesses the skills and the ability to play both Defensive End or OLB if needed. Sort of Hybrid type player. Ben is currently ranked 16 in New England at DL. I would guess he could be in the top 5 if we were separating Defensive ends and Defensive tackles. His Physical mesureables align him as a Division 1 prospect.

Ben Howard had a nice initial burst and displayed his quick feet during his showcase. He is a twitchy prospect with very good size. He did everything with obvious quickness and fluid movement. He is athletically coordinated. He is a prospect that will likely command double-teams and could still win the battle. He has all the tools to be an effective defender on the inside and could develop to be an effective edge rusher and pass rusher with continued work during his off-season camps. He is currently ranked as the # 16 D-line prospect in the class of 2025 in New England.

He is ranked as the #3 class of 2025 “Defensive Lineman” in Massachusetts and also the # 5 ranked “Defensive Lineman” in the New England. He attends Malden Catholic in Massachusetts.
Our Northeast Director Vic Castillo evaluated “Howard” and stated the following: Although no full-season tape is on record yet, Ben Howard proved his early top-30 rank to be a sufficient one. 6’4, 225, cut-up, muscular build that helps the Malden Catholic sophomore work anywhere inside the defensive line. Exemplary get-off, Howard often leaves slow guard reaching when jumping the snap from his IDL position. His closing speed to the football after shedding is a plus. His motor is a plus, often seen downfield or near the boundary making stops. One of the few underclassmen I’ve come across that could be a factor in both pass-rush and run-stopping games. His future will sway based on how his body frame continues to develop. The tape and production will only get better.
I expect him to make some noise during the 2023 summer college camp season that should ignite his recruitment interest.

In review of his freshman, (varsity) film, “Howard IV” is a burst of energy and strength that creates havoc for offensive lineman. He has technical skills combined with speed and quickness that allow him to easily break double teams with force. His eyes are always to the backfield and is seen making many tackles behind the line of scrimmage as a freshman. He appears to be a leaner 6″4″ frame with athleticism and good feet.
