Here are some new additions to the WR and TE positions; where some of these players have proven production, while some excelled in limited roles with a ton of potential in the coming two seasons. Either way, these guys are some names to watch in the coming seasons and round out what are really talented positions in the class of 2025.
Will Hart Will Hart 6’0″ | 195 lbs | WR St. Anthony’s | 2025 State NY is now at St. Anthony’s after a strong sophomore season at Shoreham Wading River. Hart has solid size at 6′ 195lbs and really good speed but he excels at the little details of the game. Hart is a good route runner but knows how to use his body and athleticism to come down with very difficult catches. Hart is making a big step up in competition but at a program that consistently develops talented skill players.
Jake Kessner Jake Kessner 6’4″ | 235 lbs | TE Rye | 2025 State NY , physically is one of the most intriguing tight end prospects regardless of class at 6’4, 230lbs and the speed that would make you think he weights 20lbs lighter. Kessner is a really solid blocker where his length and upper body strength help him win. As a receiver he is very tough to cover because his size and athleticism but more because he has a really good feel for running routes, when to sit down and find open space, or continue his path. A very solid TE prospect who could feature in the passing game this fall.
Highlights
Evan Dukes Evan Dukes 5’11” | 155 lbs | WR Curtis | 2025 State NY is a WR/CB but I am really high on his upside as a wide receiver due to his athleticism. He has great quickness and balance and is a really smooth route runner. Curtis had a stacked group of receivers last season and Dukes showcased some really solid yards after the catch ability with the ball in his hands. He is a really solid corner but as a playmaker can impact the game with the ball in his hands.
Seth Clarke Seth Clarke 6’2″ | 235 lbs | DL Monsignor Farrell | 2025 State NY is a TE/OLB but there is clear upside as a tight end at the next level. Clarke is a really solid blocker and does a good job of using his length and quickness to keep guys in front of him. However, where Clarke really can make a difference is in the passing game. He did not have a big season of production with the ball in his hands but his size is a matchup problem and he has the speed to be a very impactful route runner. He has plenty of tape at DE and his explosiveness is on display there but with his build and weight, Tight End is a position that he looks really good at and could excel at the next level at.
Aiden Pedreros Aiden Pedreros 6’5″ | 220 lbs | TE Monsignor Farrell | 2025 State NY is the highest ranking player in the class of 2025 who played JV last season, a plethora of playmakers blocked his path to varsity but the Monsignor Farrell WR/TE is one of the most intriguing players in the class with measurables at 6’5 220lbs. Pedreros will come down with 50/50 balls consistently and is actually really solid after the catch. He moves well and is a redzone threat. He is a little lean so the blocking will take time to develop with the step to varsity but Pedreros could have one of the highest ceilings amongst this group.
Steven Dowdy Jr Steven Dowdy Jr 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Iona Prep | 2025 State NY was a key piece in a very deep and consistent Iona Prep WR room last season and was a game changer as a kick returner. Dowdy Jr has speed that is coveted at the next level and can take any return or reception for a long gain. Dowdy Jr is a solid route runner and excels in the slot against safeties and nickel corners. With the speed Dowdy Jr has he very much has a kick returner/deep threat vibe to his game but he still does really good work running shorter routes and screens. With a couple graduations Dowdy Jr is in line for a bigger role and is a player to watch this season.
Highlights
E’Ryan Lawrence E’Ryan Lawrence 6’0″ | 155 lbs | ATH Bennett | 2025 State NY is moving from St. Francis to Bennett and the 2025 WR is one of the more intriguing prospects headed into the fall. Lawrence has incredible tape but has never quite had the production of a WR1 or WR2. We have seen WR3’s come out of New York and get recruited but a move to Bennett and an offense that is willing to spread the ball a little more Lawrence could be in line for a big season. Lawrence is one of the most fundamentally sound receivers and has quickness and speed to be a threat after the catch. A really solid prospect out of western New York.
Another kid who spent last season on JV that has just incredible measurables is Daunte Bacheyie Daunte Bacheyie 6’5″ | 190 lbs | WR CBA-Syracuse | 2025 State NY out of CBA-Syracuse. Bacheyie is 6’6 190lbs and does not have a ton of tape but there is a clear upside. Bacheyie moves well for his size and the development of his weight will likely decide what position he projects at but it is easy to see the tools he has as a receiver or pass first tight end.
William Hanson William Hanson 5’11” | 225 lbs | TE St. Francis | 2025 State NY is the next tight end in line to have big numbers for St. Francis. A very run heavy offense Hanson has good blocking tape and is already a solid prospect there. However, St. Francis graduates its leading receiver who was their top TE last season and Hanson will likely see a big increase in how often the ball comes his way. A power run offense that uses PA to get the ball to the TE is a perfect set up for Hanson who is athletic, fluid, and already a really solid blocker.
Kyler Lee Kyler Lee 5’10” | 185 lbs | DB Starpoint | 2025 State NY is another really solid WR/CB prospect but I really like the work he does as a slot receiver. Lee has quick twitchy cuts and he has solid size for a slot role. As a route runner he has really effective rocker steps and can create seperation pretty easy. Lee is a really refined route runner who has the speed and quickness to generate open looks for his quarterback.
