The Slaters enter their fifth season under head coach Paul Reduzzi in 2023 after posting winning seasons in each of the last two seasons after tough 2019 and 2020 seasons. This past fall, the Slaters went 7-4 overall including 7-3 in conference play, headlined by a strong defense that allowed just over 18 points per game.
The Slaters started the season going 4-1 with wins over Palisades, Jim Thorpe, Saucon Valley, and Wilson Area while dropping a conference matchup against Southern Lehigh. Pottsville would trip them up at the end of September but they would rebound to win three of their last five games including games over Lehightoon, Northwestern Lehigh, and Pen Argyl. Their season would come to an end with a 42-7 loss to Allentown Central Catholic.

2023 Season Outlook
Under head coach Paul Reduzzi, Bangor has consistently gotten better and better and we expect more of the same in 2023. Replacing Eric Striba at quarterback will be tough as he passed and ran for over 1,000 yards this past season while combining for a total of 23 touchdowns. They also lost top running back Ashton Kluska which will be a notable loss but rising senior Noah HIllis has shown plenty of promise of his own. The Slaters do return their top two wide receivers as well in Greg Campbell and Riley Stapp.
Talking about Stapp, he’s arguably the biggest returner on the defensive side of the ball after recording 53 tackles and 3.0 tackles for a loss last season. The aforementioned Campbell notably led the team in tackles as well with 58. Top sack-getter Jared Weaver also returns after posting eight sacks and four quarterback hurries a year ago, he’ll be one of the better pass rushers in the conference next fall.
Overall, the Slaters should be in for another good season next fall and should compete for a Gold Division crown.
