Household names such as former No.1 overall NFL draft pick and current Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, have made this team and event a special one. The evaluators and coaching staff that put together the Georgia Future Stars do a great job of balancing skill sets and showcasing what the future of football will look like. Here’s a look at the Quarterbacks on this year’s eighth grade (class of 2027) team.
In my opinion, the most complete and high school-ready of the three quarterback’s selected for the Georgia Future Stars eighth grade team this year, is Dunlap. A muscular 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds right now, he is a threat to beat defenses with his arms and his legs. This 2027 class from Georgia had an all-world performance from JR Harris JR Harris 5’9″ | 165 lbs | QB Central Carrollton | 2027 State GA in the Future Stars event last year, but with him not on the team this year, a loaded Georgia team will go as far as the quarterback position will take them. While Dunlap isn’t as quick as Harris, he’s equally as dangerous with his arm and will help keep the defense honest. After a tremendous season at Mossy Creek Middle School and standout performance at the Prep Redzone Next camp this winter, the Warner Robins native earned a home on the 2027PRZ Next National Watchlist.
If Grey Dunlap Grey Dunlap 5’11” | 160 lbs | QB Houston County | 2027 GA is the quarterback on the roster that can get it down as a dual-threat, then consider Rahman your traditional signal caller that can sling the ball all over the yard. In that 5-foot-11, 6-foot range and weighing 180-to-185 pounds, he’s a prospect that continues to improve month over month. The big lefty makes the deep ball look effortless, as he possesses a very strong arm at this stage. He played his pre-high school ball for North Gwinnett and has played against or alongside many others on this roster. Chief among those that he’s familiar with, will be running back Andrew Beard Andrew Beard 5’9″ | 170 lbs | RB Lincoln County | 2027 GA . Having QB1 and RB1 from the same regular season team should help aid chemistry and familiarity, given the short window the Future Stars team has to come together as a unit. Rahman also currently already holds a spot on the 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist.
Michael Kyles Jr.
Michael Kyles Jr.
The lone returner off last year’s seventh-grade Georgia Future Stars, Kyles Jr. has seen the talent this game brings out and I expect him to bring a calming presence to this position group, in addition the offense as a whole. Kyles Jr. knows what it’s like to be surrounded by elite weapons. Playing for the Georgia Future Stars, the Grayson Rams feeder program and Hustle Inc. 7v7 team. The future Ram has grown four inches since last year’s event and packed on 20 pounds, now standing 5-foot-11 and 135 pounds. He’s not on the 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist yet, but he’s a kid I have circled in red ink to spend a lot of time checking out. He checks a lot of boxes as a game-manager, who doesn’t try to do too much. Personally, I’m anxious to spend a week watching him closely.
