Trujillo is an under the radar player that has the potential to be one of the top receivers in 3A. He is a deep ball threat with his speed and his QB doesn’t have to be afraid of over throwing him as he is able to get some pretty clean releases on most plays. He attacks alignment early and is able to run past defenders, stacking them then adjusting to the ball. He is good with the 50/50 ball and can high point the ball, out jumping the defender. He can be a good possession receiver as well being able to hold onto the ball through contact and moving the chains. He is a touchdown machine and will be someone to keep an eye on this year as he tries to lead the pack again this year in receiving touchdowns.
Wilkes is a great short to intermediate route runner and is smooth when coming in and out of his breaks. He has great hands and can be a good possession receiver to keep the sticks moving. He is not afraid of going across the middle and will initiate contact after catching the ball, fighting for extra yards when he comes down with it. He is also a receiver that can stretch the field at times and get behind the defenders. He will go up and get those 50/50 passes. When the ball is a little under thrown he shows good vision being able to re-adjust and fight for the ball or under cut the defender and come down with the ball. Will be someone to keep an eye on as he lead this group in receiving yards and will look to build on that.
Highlights
Hoffman is a player that is ready to blow up this season and has been getting some attention already this offseason. He is an explosive receiver that is very smooth with his route running and can break the defender down with ease. This is the first thing that jumps out when you watch him as he is able to create separation consistently. He is a receiver that can really trick the defender with the way he sells his routes and he is good at winning the 50/50 passes. He is shifty on his cuts and the way he is able to break tackles and gain extra yards makes him standout as well. He has a lot of upside and will make it on a lot of radars this season and could be a top receiver in 3A.
Highlights
Elijah Brotherns
Elijah Brotherns
Brotherns is a under the radar speedster that can take the top off of the defense and is someone you don’t want to leave in one on one coverage too many times a game. He is a threat on the ground as well being used in end-arounds and getting explosive plays. He is a player that excels in double moves and shows good hands being able to come down with the difficult catches in traffic. When the scorpions get close to the endzone he shows the ability to run the fade and has the field awareness to leave room for the QB to throw it to where only he can catch it. He is the type of player that will make the defense pay whenever he has the ball in his hands.
Garet Hendrickson
Garet Hendrickson
Hendrickson is a player that plays a lot out of the slot and is a mismatch problem for some of the backers or safeties that are covering him. He is a deep ball threat and is able to use his speed to beat his defender on seam or go routes. He shows good hands being able to bring the ball in and not use his body to control the catch. The Eagles will be returning top receiver and Hendrickson was the second leading receiver last season setting him up for plenty of chance to continue to build with his QB. Will be a player to watch to see if he is able to capitalize on his chance and continue to punch it in when his team gets down in the redzone.
