But his September 26th showdown against Middle Park etched his name into highlight reel glory. Wilkes hauled in 11 catches for an astounding 171 yards and found the end zone three times, making it look as easy as a walk in the park—Middle Park, to be exact.

Wilkes is an exciting dual position prospect. The 6’1 196-pound senior plays WR/FS, and excels at both. However, today I will be discussing his defensive film. As a DB, he has 24 total tackles (all solo), 3 PD, 5 interceptions (T-4th). Wilkes has good size to him, to match up against receivers. He has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, and good jumping. Wilkes uses his very good mental processing to keep his eyes on the QB, or read the play. He puts himself in position to intercept the ball, or stop the run. He has very good ball tracking skills, paired with elite catching. He’ll make catches at a weird angle while making it look seamless. Wilkes extends and plucks the ball out of the air. Wilkes is lockdown in zone coverage. Stopping the WR in their tracks, or knocking the ball out. He will also come down into the box to assist in run support. He makes the most at both positions, and is a top tier wide receiver as well.

His wide catch radius and ability to make plays in the open field made him a nightmare for defenders. Wilkes turned in a game for the ages, catching 5 passes for 151 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was nothing short of explosive, turning each of his receptions into big plays. Wilkes has the rare combination of speed, route-running precision, and hands that make him a constant deep threat. On multiple occasions, he found himself wide open downfield, as he blew past defenders with ease. Once the ball was in his hands, his ability to turn on the jets and create yards after the catch made him a nightmare for the secondary. Scoring on more than half of his catches, Wilkes showed his knack for the end zone and his ability to step up in big moments.

Wilkes is a receiver that is able to make an impact as a running back as well, being able to punch it in when they get into the redzone. He is a receiver with a lot of speed and can make things happen in the open field being able to make the first defender miss. He can push the defense vertically and can get in and out of breaks quickly. He is a prospect to keep an eye on as he is ranked #43 in the state and #4 receiver in 2025 looking to climb the ranks.

Wilkes has supplanted himself as one of the bigger sleepers in the class. He has good size and speed on a solid frame with impressive athletic abilities. His strong route running is complemented by his impeccable catching skills that help to widen his catch radius. He has good overall strength that makes him tough to bring down, enabling him to break free from contact and gain yards after the catch. Wilkes is an underrated athlete with the skills of a playmaker, adding to his value as a wide receiver prospect.

Wilkes is a great short to intermediate route runner and is smooth when coming in and out of his breaks. He has great hands and can be a good possession receiver to keep the sticks moving. He is not afraid of going across the middle and will initiate contact after catching the ball, fighting for extra yards when he comes down with it. He is also a receiver that can stretch the field at times and get behind the defenders. He will go up and get those 50/50 passes. When the ball is a little under thrown he shows good vision being able to re-adjust and fight for the ball or under cut the defender and come down with the ball. Will be someone to keep an eye on as he lead this group in receiving yards and will look to build on that.
