Atley Cowan is a stellar quarterback for Linsley High School (WV). In 2022, Cowan passed for 2418 yards and 27 touchdowns. Some scouts have Atley listed as WV’s top rated quarterback for the 2024 class.
At 6’2″, 192 pounds, Cowan has terrific size. He is a prototypical pocket passer with outstanding mechanics and pocket presence. Cowan is very athletic and is an effective runner but looks to pass first in Linsley’s spread attack.
Cowan demonstrates exceptional pocket presence and has a unique ability to feel pressure, shift the pocket, reset his feet and deliver throws accurately. HIs mechanics are well-polished and his outstanding accuracy is the result. Cowan has a fluid, over-the-top throwing motion and good arm strength.
Cowan excels in the vertical game and demonstrates terrific touch on the deep ball. He reads coverages well and is patient in allowing plays to develop and receivers to come open. His strong arm and accuracy allow him to deliver passes with good velocity and into tight windows. While his strength lies in the passing game, Cowan is an adequate and athletic runner.
Perhaps the greatest attribute of Cowan’s game is that his eyes are always downfield. He demonstrates a terrific ability to sidestep pressure and extend plays. Atley reads the field well and does not give up on plays. He has a unique ability to maintain his composure, allow receivers to come open and accurately deliver precision passes. Atley also demonstrates toughness and willingness to remain in the pocket and deliver throws even when he knows he is going to take a hit.
Cowan is definitely a quarterback to watch for this coming fall.
Ian Crookshanks will be a rising Senior at East Fairmont High School (WV). In 2022, he completed 123 of 224 passes for 1719 yards and 23 touchdowns. He added 328 and 11 touchdowns on the ground. In 3 seasons, Crookshanks has accounted for over 4000 yards of total offense, which is a school record he will continue to build on during the 2023 season.
Crookshanks possesses a strong arm and excels in the vertical passing game. Ian exhibits good touch on deep balls and is delivers over-the-shoulder throws extremely well. He throws well on the run and keeps his eyes downfield to allow receivers to come open and extend plays. Crookshanks makes quick reads and delivers the ball on time. He is a very accurate passer and demonstrates command of the offense.
Crookshanks will benefit from polishing his mechanics and developing a more over-the-top throwing motion.
Crookshanks demonstrates adequate speed and is a tough runner that fights for extra yards and does not shy away from contact.
Ian has a 4.0 GPA and his intelligence serves him well on the field.
Crookshanks’ strong arm and field vision translate well to the next level.

Abe Fenwick
Abe Fenwick may very well be the best quarterback in the 2024 class in WV. His size, athleticism, arm talent and mechanics will translate very well to the next level.
In 2022 Fenwick completed 184 of 288 pass attempts for 2674 yards. His 14.5 yard average per completion demonstrates his strength in the vertical passing game. He passed for 29 touchdowns and added another 4 rushing touchdowns.
A left-hander, Fenwick excels in the vertical passing game and demonstrates exceptional touch on his passes. He stands tall in the pocket and possesses terrific field vision, always keeping his eyes downfield. Fenwick has great pocket awareness and is very elusive in the pocket, able to side-step pressure and extend plays with his feet. Fenwick does not run often but is a very capable runner with above-average speed.
Fenwick has a fluid, over-the-top throwing motion. His arm strength allows him to make every throw including out routes from the opposite hash. Abe has perhaps the most arm talent of all quarterbacks in the 2024 class. He is already garnering substantial interest from collegiate programs ranging from Group of 5 schools to Division II.

Koi Fagan is a rising Junior at Martinsburg High School (WV). Fagan is an excellent student with a 4.625 GPA and his intelligence and dedication translate well to the playing field.
Fagan may well be the most athletic QB in the 2025 class. He has exceptional top end speed and is an elusive and dangerous runner. He has excellent top-end speed (4.7 40) and quickness (4.49 shuttle). Fagan demonstrates great lateral movement, field vision and ability to run past defenders.
While he will benefit from more experience and improved mechanics, Fagan demonstrates great accuracy and touch on deep balls. Fagan’s arm strength will continue to increase. At 6’0″ 160 pounds, Fagan will continue to build upon his athletic frame.
Koi plays with confidence which will no doubt continue to grow over the next 2 seasons. He is an exciting player to watch and already has a skill set that will translate well to the next level.
Maddox Bowers Maddox Bowers 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB Morgantown | 2024 State WV is a rising Senior for Morgantown High School (WV). He is a highly intelligent player and has a 4.125 GPA.
Bowers has good size at 6’0″, 185 pounds and will be able to put on additional size, especially under a collegiate training program.
Bowers is a pro-style QB and is a superb drop back passer. He threw for 1259 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior in a Morgantown offense that relies primarily on the ground game often using the Wing-T. They do not throw the ball often but Maddox has the arm talent, field vision and confidence to win with his arm.
Perhaps Bowers’ greatest strength is his accuracy. He is very good in the vertical passing game and can also deliver the ball to a spot on time. He demonstrates strong mechanics and fundamentals. His footwork and fluid over-the-top throwing motion make him a highly polished passer entering his senior season.
Bowers possesses a strong skill set that will translate well to the next level, most likely Division II.
