With some schools beginning to reach out to some of the upcoming stars in the game, it’s important to know about kids that are about to break the internet. The Class of 2027 is loaded with TONS of undiscovered talent around the country and here are some athletes that you need to know about now.
There are 11 opportunities to compete against some of these guys and other top 2027 & 2029 prospects this spring at our PRZ Next Rising Prospect camps. Do yourself a favor and get signed up for one. The talent that comes out never disappoints. Here are the dates/locations.
Julius Hernandez-Avila Julius Hernandez-Avila 6’2″ | 215 lbs | DL Life Christian | 2027 WA is a defensive lineman/athlete that impressed down at AYF Nationals for Gridiron AIGA down in Florida this past December, and he has continued to check boxes the more we watch. The Washington prospect stands around 6’2 and shows flashes of dominance with his size, strength and athletic ability. Actually getting some snaps at running back during the regular season for his middle school team, he’s one of the more athletic defensive ends at his level. With his speed and lateral change of direction, Julius grabbed our attention on the field. One of the most important attributes that stuck out to us, is that he is a sure tackler once engaged with the opposition. Once he makes contact with the ball carrier, you can almost guarantee that he will wrestle him down. When looking for a young, still-somewhat-raw defensive end that has a ton of upside in the PNW, start your search here.

Najarn is speed demon running back to look out for in this 2027 class. The shifty Virginia prospect is one of the faster, more elusive athletes that I have seen in this class. Najarn is a smooth runner who makes running past his opponents look easy and mundane. With that, Bostic is incredibly athletic and runs on his toes. He has the agility for quick cuts that can shake defenders in one-on-one situations. From what I have seen from Najarn, it is clear that he has a nose for the endzone and finds it frequently. Anytime he touches the ball, there is a chance for a big play to come from him. If he can pack on some size, Najarn could quickly become a highly sought-after athlete in the DMV.
CJ Brooks CJ Brooks 6’4″ | 325 lbs | OL Gaffney | 2027 State SC is a BIG offensive lineman with a frame that most athletes can only dream about in just the eighth grade. The 6’4 Palmetto State product was one of the most dominant middle school offensive linemen in South Carolina, if not the most dominant, at Gaffney Middle School. It is rare to find a kid with his his size at this level, and even more rare to find a kid who can move like him at that size. Calvin seems to have mastered the art of moving people off the line of scrimmage with his strong and explosive nature. As a pass protector, Calvin has shown that he can change direction and stay in front of his opponent with relative ease. He does a great job of mirroring in pass protecting and doesn’t open his shoulders or get over extended. He checks all of the boxes: size, strength, and explosion. As Calvin continues to develop, it wouldn’t shock us to see an early offer here.

Ahzir Nelson Ahzir Nelson 5’8″ | 165 lbs | RB La Salle College | 2027 State PA is quick hole-hitting back to know early out of Philadelphia. The Quaker State running back stands at 5’8 and has proven to stand out amongst the competition in a pretty talent-rich area. Ahzir is a dynamic running back who excels at running the ball out of the backfield and catching the ball in a variety of different routes. After the mesh point in the backfield, Ahzir is one of the best at finding his lane and making one quick cut to hit his aiming point. After that, with his speed, he typically eats up a big chunk of yards before defenders can get a hand on him. Despite not being the thickest back in the world at this point, he can rumble between the tackles and can take a few licks from the bigger guys in the middle. He’ll be a the PRZ Next Rising Prospect tour in Pennsylvania this May. Looking forward to seeing him live.
Marquis Evans Marquis Evans 5’10” | 140 lbs | ATH Moore | 2027 OK is another stand-out Athlete/Wide Receiver to have on your radar going into the future. The 5’10 Sooner State product can do everything from catching passes to returning kicks on special teams. One of the biggest keys that makes him so successful on the football field is his breakaway speed–it’s impressive. With how well he runs, there wasn’t many other 2027 prospects that could cover him straight up or catch up to him after he blew by them. Clearly, Marquis is highly athletic. Watching him shake and shift around his opponents effortlessly is another key to why he has the talent to become one of the major talents in Oklahoma in this class.

Terris Hobbs Terris Hobbs 6’0″ | 170 lbs | RB Clayton | 2027 NC is a dual sport athlete that has shown to be one of the better 2027s in North Carolina in football and basketball. Having seen the Tar Heel state running back live this past December at AYF Nationals, he was a kid we jotted down quickly. He has the ability to be one of the more electrifying athletes on the field at any given time. Coming out of the backfield, Terris makes very sharp cuts with good agility. Maintaining his top-end speed while changing direction, I have been thoroughly impressed with the athletic ability Terris has. Despite giving up some size, Hobbs is also a hard runner who fights through contact and does everything can continue to fall forward and advance the ball. He’s another one that needs to grow and pack on size, but there is potential for big things down the line here.

Coming deep out of southwest New Jersey, less than a half hour from Philadelphia, Robbie O’Connor Robbie O’Connor 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Paul VI | 2027 NJ is a quarterback to keep a close eye on moving forward. The 6’2 field general attended our PRZ Next Winter Camp in New Jersey and proved to be everything we saw on film. He has raw, yet impressive, arm talent that ranks amongst the most impressive in the Garden State for the 2027 class. With his arm strength being one of the greatest assets to his game, Robbie can pump out big plays with ease while in the pocket. The tall righty has tightened up this throwing motion since we first watched him as a seventh grader and it’s paying off. When things break down around him, he has also shown to have no problem improvising when he sees fit. While rolling out of the pocket, his passes appear to remain as effortless as when he is sitting back there with all the time in the world. With the talent that I have seen in Robbie, it is obvious that he has a very bright future ahead of him. Look for Robbie to light up the scoreboard on Friday nights very soon.
