In this post, I’m covering the 15U Quarterbacks from the tourney. If you missed the coverage for the 2-Way Standouts, I posted to the site last night. Later on, I will be covering defensive standouts and skill players.
Chuck Smith
Chuck Smith
Regardless of which division we take a look at, Smith was one of the top quarterbacks at the Prep Redzone Sooner Shootout. Smith made plays both days for his True Buzz team that ended up winning the 15U Championship game over a Sooner 7 team. What I liked about Smith was he made his throws in rhythm. He would look off his defenders and come back in the opposite direction to make the throw. I never saw him have to take a sack as the ball came out of his hand in time. Smith had good ball placement all weekend and threw it to where only his receivers could catch it. He showed a strong arm and had a great weekend overall.
Quintero is right up there as a quarterback that I liked watching all weekend for all classes. There is a reason why he currently holds a power 5 offer from the Oregon Ducks. Quintero has a good release on the ball and makes good reads on the defense. Quintero made several throws throughout the weekend that had me scratching my head wondering how he made that in a tight window. He shows good footwork and consistently made good decisions all weekend. Quintero will heat up as a sophomore at Stillwater and will continue to pick up college offers.
Highlights
Keller is out of Little Rock Christian Academy and played for the Icons out of Arkansas for the Sooner Shootout. Keller is 6’1″ and weighs around 170 pounds. He has a good athletic frame that competed both days with his squad. Keller has good footwork and a strong arm to go along with it. Keller didn’t always try to go deep and threw good out routes along with underneath crossing routes. I look for good things to happen for Keller his sophomore season in Arkansas.
Aiden Scott

The next 15U quarterback that we are going to take a look at is Aiden Scott Aiden Scott 6’4″ | 180 lbs | QB Shawnee Heights | 2026 State KS from Shawnee Heights, who played for Kansas Elite. Scott stands in at 6’3″ and weighs around 170 pounds. Scott keeps his eyes downfield and is always going through his read progressions. He has active feet and doesn’t play sloppy in the pocket or even on his sprint outs, which you see out of quarterbacks in 7 on 7 on occasions. Throughout the weekend, Scott made good reads and took what the defense gave him.
Tre Thomson
Tre Thomson
Here is another standout from this past weekend from the 479 Elite team that plays ball at Bentonville West. Thompson has a good arm and I like the deep ball that he connected with Nash, and others, several times throughout the tourney. Thompson had good ball placement and made sure to get the ball to several other playmakers for 479 Elite. Thompson threw good short routes and would take a shot on the defensive when needed. I liked the quarterback play from Thompson as he was consistent on both days.
Cameron Kruse
Cameron Kruse
Team EMPIRE had a quarterback that I had the chance to watch that intrigued me. Kruse is 6’1″ and weighing in around 175 pounds. He is out of the Kansas City area and has a strong arm. He made his read and got the ball out quickly. Kruse made throws where his receivers could catch them and delivered a good touch on his deep balls. Kruse is currently in 8th grade and competed up from the class of 2027.
Cruz Campbell Cruz Campbell 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Tuttle | 2026 State OK

Here is another Sooner 7 quarterback that had a good tourney from Southmoore High School. Campbell has a solid arm that made several throws to where only his receivers could catch them. The receiver core does a good job of creating separation and Campbell made sure to make the connection on both days. He has good touch on his deep balls and fires it in on his shorter to intermediate throws. He showed good balance and made good quick decisions with the ball.
Ayden Wilhelm
Ayden Wilhelm
It didn’t matter what age group I watched I was impressed with the whole club from STFFA. Good interactions with everyone involved including Wilhelm who had a good performance for Team Excellence. He could make the throw in tight windows and was consistent in his delivery. He could read a defense and was able to get the ball out quickly to his playmakers. Wilhelm will be a quarterback to watch for the next several years from Blue Springs South High School.
Price is in the class of 2025 but is only 15 years old. I had the chance to watch another Sooner 7 quarterback display his talents and he attends Lincoln Christian High School in Oklahoma. Price has active feet, and he is always moving in the pocket. He displays nice touch on his deep ball, and depending on where the defenders are, he can rifle it there or put a nice touch on the ball. I liked his overall ball placement along with his quick short throws. Price had a good 2 day showing out at the tournament.
Grant Matson
Grant Matson
Matson will be the final quarterback that we talk about in this article about the Sooner Shootout this past weekend in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Matson had a good delivery on the ball and could spin it for the Red Wolves. He made good reads throughout the tournament along with good ball placement for his receivers. A couple of times he would drop it in over the shoulder of his receivers on the sideline.
