Expert Analysis
Jeremy Deckard | Prep Redzone Scout
Shawnee Heights is a program I watch at least once every season, and they have a quarterback worth making special plans to see play in person. Scott is ranked No. 17 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026 and is the No. 2-ranked quarterback in Kansas. He can beat teams with the deep ball and with his accuracy. My schedule can flip on a dime, but right now I have the Thunderbirds’ game against Basehor-Linwood on my short list of games to scout.

Scott is a gunslinging quarterback who has a larger arsenal of weapons than the legendary General Winfield Scott. The elder Scott is one of the more underrated generals in American History, as he was too young to make headlines in the War of 1812, and too old to take the field during the Civil War. Thundering Scott does not care what field he takes to show off his accurate and big right gun. Scott is ranked No. 17 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas and is the second-highest ranked quarterback in the Class of 2026.

The highest uncommitted Kansas quarterback in the Class of 2026 is Shawnee Heights’ Scott. He threw for over 3,000 yards and 32 touchdowns for the Thunderbirds last fall. He has an offer from the University of South Dakota. He has an offer from Benedictine College in his pocket and is being recruited by his hometown Washburn Ichabods. Scott is ranked No. 11 overall and is the second-ranked quarterback among his signal-calling peers.

, 6’5, 210, QB, Shawnee Heights ’26. As the returning state leader in passing yards, as well as the school and conference record holder for all the passing stats, he is building up to a senior-year crescendo this fall. And, he has been busy building momentum already, with visits to South Dakota, South Dakota State, and North Dakota State and is planning on as many as a dozen camps this spring and summer, including events at Drake, South Dakota, Washburn, Montana State, NW Missouri State, Southern Illinois, North Dakota State, Davidson, Wake Forrest, San Jose State, Fresno State, Pitt State and Central Oklahoma. He has been putting in a lot of work with QB Trainer Justin Hoover and is also a pitcher on the school’s baseball team. The goal this year is to blow his own record-breaking numbers out of the water and pass for 4,000 yards, 35 TD’s and complete 75% of his passes. This guy is a stone-cold gunslinger.
