With some schools beginning to reach out to some of the upcoming stars in the game, it’s important to know about kids that are about to break the internet. The Class of 2027 is loaded with TONS of undiscovered talent around the country and here are some athletes that you need to know about now.
The younger brother of 2024 prospect Jayden Coleman Jayden Coleman 5’11” | 175 lbs | DB Central High | 2024 State AL , who is ranked the No.9 Defensive Back and No.51 overall prospect in our Alabama class rankings, Bobby Coleman Jr. is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound quarterback who is comfortable both in and out of the pocket. He has an excellent feel for the position and can throw with timing and anticipation. The future Central High School Red Devil is highly accurate to all three levels of the field and does a nice job staying in the pocket, surveying the field and delivering accurate passes to his receivers. Alongside his brother, he’s visited a host of major programs including the Crimson Tide, Kentucky, Auburn, Florida State and Texas A&M. Perhaps, a taste of what is to come for the current eighth-grader.
Allen is an extremely active 5-foot-10, 145-pound athlete for Bumpus Middle School who is often one of the best and most pliable kids on the field. He’s a versatile athlete who lines up at Wide Receiver on offense but excels even more on the defensive side of the ball at Linebacker. On offense he possesses sure hands in addition requisite speed and agility to make him a homerun threat. However, it’s the defensive side of the ball that us excited. On defense the future Hoover Buc is lightning-quick to the ball and often uses his speed and agility to avoid would-be blockers. On Saturday’s in the fall, you’ll often hear announcers on TV say something to the effect of, “wow, I can’t imagine what he was like to play against before college”. Well, here’s an example of such a prospect on the early side: He’s built like a Safety, plays with the speed of a Safety, but hits like a Linebacker. Stay tuned here.
Swinging it back to Central High School Red Devils, big Jaquan Jones Jaquan Jones 6’2″ | 285 lbs | DL AL is a promising interior Defensive Lineman — quick, strong, powerful, big and space eater all at once. Self-dubbed as the next Jordan Davis, Jones is listed at 6-foot-2, 285 pounds on social media. That’s a lofty comparison, but he’s a wide body with a strong base and quick feet at Defensive Tackle. He does a nice job firing off the ball, getting past his defender and reading/reacting to the opposing backfield. He’s got the the frame and potential to be a big time player in the state over the next several seasons, especially at a program consistently turns out next level kids. He’s certainly one to keep an eye on.
We talk about athletic Linebackers a lot on Prep Redzone Next, but just using my own eye, he has to be one of the most athletic kids at the position in this class. A prospect with broad pursuit range and aggressive play in the box, he can also chase down plays going away from him. He’s a versatile prospect who possesses natural instincts and ability to key and diagnose, play downhill and sideline-to-sideline. The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect has a knack for the football and he isn’t afraid to lay the wood on opposing players. As talented as he is in football, he’s probably an even better basketball player. He’ll be at defending state-champion Thompson High School.
There are not enough positive things to say about 2027 Running Back prospect Trenton McCorvey–both as a young man and a football player. He’s another kid headed off to reigning- Alabama State Champion, Thompson High School. For the eighth-grade Warriors, McCorvey accumulated 1,175 total yards and 13 touchdowns on in just eight games, en route to an MVP seaon. More importantly, he was also voted team captain by his teammates–that speaks volumes to me. He’s obviously a very explosive back with a solid build. The 6-foot, 175-pound do-it-all-back is a fast, powerful runner who puts one foot in the ground and goes. He runs downhill quickly and doesn’t shy away from contact. He’s a good all-around back and also possesses the speed to get the edge, the power to run between the tackles and the hands to catch the ball from the slot. Between McCorvey, Davis, Cam Pritchett Cam Pritchett 6’4″ | 210 lbs | DL Thompson | 2027 State AL and Quarterback Trent Seaborn Trent Seaborn 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Thompson | 2027 State AL , there appears to be no blockage in the talent pipeline for the Thompson Warriors.
Baker, a 6-foot, 160-pound Defensive Back/Running Back, has been putting in the work this offseason as he prepares for high school ball in the fall at Oak Mountain High School. Also a wrestler, the multi-sport prospect has grown more than a few inches since last football season. Personally, I’m excited to see him live at our Prep Redzone Next Rising Prospect Camp in Georgia this spring. After wrapping up a great season on the mat, he’s participated in a handful of 7v7 events with his high school team where he’s been able to showcase his skills and talent. He has fluid hips, can mirror most Wide Receivers at the level and does a nice job staying in the hip-pocket of his receiver. Moreover, he has the “kill or be killed” wrestler’s mentality on the football field and it pays off for him. Him and fellow 2027 Prep Redzone Next National Watchlist athlete Ba’Roc Willis Ba’Roc Willis 6’3″ | 225 lbs | LB Moody | 2027 State AL will make quite the one-two punch.

Joining the above-mentioned Kylan Baker Kylan Baker 6’0″ | 160 lbs | DB Moody | 2027 AL at our Prep Redzone Next Rising Prospect Camp in Gerogia this spring is 6-foot-3, 195-pound Major Moorer Major Moorer 6’3″ | 190 lbs | ATH AL . Moorer is the son of a coach and has flashed at both Defensive Line and Wide Receiver/Tight End during middle school. This past season he excelled at both positions. On Defensive Line he uses his length, speed and quickness to his advantage, quickly reading and reacting to the offensive backfield. On offense he does a nice job using his quickness and size to his advantage and as a deep threat for his quarterback. Given his dad being a line coach, I see him settling in on the Defensive Line as a future big time Defensive End prospect. We’re excited to see him in Georgia
