Music City Mayhem’s Top 12U Performers: Part I

Music City Mayhem has come and gone & we saw a boatload of talented prospects from eleven different states. The 12U division had some freaks and I have a feeling some will be names you will know in the near future. These were my top 12U performers in part I of my series.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide"/>   WR: Tyler Sidel, Fire Dragons   Sidel can work all three levels of the field, he has above-average footwork, and is an easy deep ball tracker. He catches everything thrown within the framework, has no hesitation going over the middle of the field, and has enough build-up speed to threaten squatting corners.   DB: Eli Coots, Indy Select   Coots roams the secondary like a center fielder and does a good job identifying the quarterback's intentions. He plays with a sense of urgency, shows excellent range, and accelerates out of his breaks to make a play on the football.   ATH: Finn Manning, Tennessee Stars   Finn has a ton of upside on both sides of the ball, he's got terrific body control, great anticipation, and top-tier ball skills. He is shifty against jams, can adjust to poorly thrown balls, and played with confident hands throughout.   QB: Texton Bollers, Fire Dragons   Bollers has a cannon for an arm at this age and can place the football through tight downfield windows. He's patient letting routes develop, is consistently in rhythm with his wideouts, and has twitchy hips to generate maximum force on his throws. He has the bloodlines too, his older brother TJ is an outside linebacker at Wisconsin.   WR: Karter Sthindoer, Indy Select   A speedy wideout that can exploit the holes in zone coverage and can take the top off a defense. He shows great burst off the snap, can create separation against physical defenders, and can sink his hips & stop on a dime at the top of his route.   LB: Jack Henry Tipmore, DSP Elite   A playmaking machine at the mike linebacker spot. Jack can unlock his hips and run with three up the seam, he's fluid downing ball carriers in space and has impressive route recognition. He plays with a high motor and can make up for other defenders' mistakes.   WR: Ty Hilton, TFP Flite Boyz   The son of Pro Bowler T.Y. Hilton, Ty is forging his own legacy. This young man is a nasty route runner with a huge catch radius and elite hand-eye coordination. He has strong hands through contact, immediately gets vertical after the catch, and can make you miss if defenders are overpursuing.   QB: QB Chase Browning, Indy Select   Browning has a smooth motion, quiet feet, and can generate some serious mustard on his throws. He throws off a balanced platform, can place the ball over linebackers and underneath safeties & has overall terrific timing.   WR: Nolan Dao, Fire Dragons   Dao pound for pound was one of the best players at the tournament hands down. He's already got impressive size, he uses his frame to box out defenders and can adjust to make catches out of awkward body positions. He goes up and gets the football at its highest point and is a natural hands catcher.
