The recruits featured in this piece shined at the varsity level as only sophomores and made their way onto college coaches’ radars. However, as a whole, they’re still considered quite under-recruited right now, with most still waiting on their first offer. Make no mistake though, that could change here in the blink of an eye. I think they’re poised for a big spring & summer and we could see that offer list grow quickly.
As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!
QB: Cooper Kmet, 6’2″ 190, St. Viator
An athletic quarterback prospect that dazzles throwing on the move. Cooper has a quick set-up, shows consistent ball placement, keeps his eyes downfield when evading the pocket, and can tuck it & pick up yards on the ground. He has the bloodlines as he’s the brother of Chicago Bears tight end, Cole Kmet.
TE: Logan Farrell, 6’3″ 235, Hersey
Logan put up some impressive numbers last fall, accounting for over 400 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. Farrell is a smooth mover for his size, is a vicious striker on impact, and plays with an attitude for four quarters.
DB: Tavarez Edwards, 6’2″ 190, Bolingbrook
A rangy defensive back with plenty of positional versatility, instincts, and anticipation. Edwards is efficient working a motor technique in press, can roll up and play man out of the slot, has tight breaks, and shows the body control needed to come up & make tackles in space.
DB: Andruw Ellis, 6′ 175, Roxana Shells
A physical cornerback prospect with a knack for forcing turnovers. Ellis easily identifies route concepts, has a quick trigger, shows the speed to make up for other people’s mistakes, and will fight off perimeter blocks to provide run support.
WR: Travis Stamm Travis Stamm 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Lyons Township | 2025 State IL 6’2″ 170, Lyons
Noticeable burst off the line, to go with fiery build-up speed. Stamm is a natural tracking the deep ball over the shoulder, will stick his foot in the dirt & accelerate out of his cuts, can adjust to underthrown balls, and is an artful route runner.
WR: Jahmare Washington, 6’2″ 170, Morgan Park
An effortless glider with terrific hands and can challenge deep half safeties. Washington is a willing & quite sticky blocker who is a major threat as a goal-line route runner and has sudden footwork.
