As someone who coached quarterbacks over the course of my 15 year coaching career it is passion of mine to follow quarterbacks in the state of Pennsylvania. For this article I am gonna touch on a few under the radar quarterbacks in the 2024 class. The top quarterbacks in the 2024 class are [player_tooltip player_id='164520' first='Samaj' last='Jones'] of St. Joe's Prep, [player_tooltip player_id='64022' first='Alex' last='Erby'] of Steelton-Highspire and [player_tooltip player_id='64000' first='Brad' last='Birch'] of Gateway. This list a some other quarterbacks in the 2024 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='164150' first='Mekhi' last='Wharton'] Neumann-Goretti- I was told a long time ago you cannot coach size. [player_tooltip player_id='164150' first='Mekhi' last='Wharton'] fits the bill with his 6'5 frame. He looks every part of it in the pocket. He has a little bit of a hitch in his delivery of the football, but gets rid of it so quickly it is hard to see. Even though he is a taller quarterback he is still athletic enough to scramble and make plays outside of the pocket. The best part of his film is his long ball. He throws a beautiful deep ball with plenty of air on the ball. He is also very accurate with the ball even though the ball sails on him sometimes. Wharton is a player that with a huge senior year should have a chance at getting lots of attention from college coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='238310' first='Marcus' last='Quaker'] West Perry- Quaker 1st came on my radar when he and West Perry destroyed a previous undefeated Lancaster Catholic team in the 1st round of the playoffs. Quaker is your classic duel threat quarterback. He is deadly as a runner. He is so good running option and zone read plays, but also is tough when he scrambles. A coach once told me a great skill kid is someone you cannot catch in a phone booth, that is Quaker. He always seems to make the 1st person miss when he is running the ball. Quaker can throw the ball as well, and is especially lethal when he is on a roll out or a bootleg play. If he continues to develop as a passer the sky's the limit for this quarterback.

[player_tooltip player_id='377330' first='Tyler' last='Gee'] Loyalsock Township. Gee is a classic drop back quarterback who can make all the throws. On his film I saw RPOs, deep posts, slants, digs and anything else you see watching football. Gee is very patient in the pocket and sits their and makes the appropriate reads in the pocket. He can also move and make plays when the play breaks down, but where he excels is reading the defense and finding the open receivers. You can tell that he has been groomed well and studies film. He is a classic quarterback that will make the right throw almost every time.

[player_tooltip player_id='142809' first='Jonathan' last='Ingram'] Cheltenham. Ingram is a natural thrower of the football. The ball just flicks right out of his hands and throws a beautiful ball. Ingram is also a good athlete that can scramble in the pocket and take off in run at any time. On his film Ingram several times sat in the pocket and hit deep posts, in routes and other routes. He can throw almost every route you imagine up as a coach. The biggest area of growth for Ingram is consistency. If he can have a great off-season and develop that consistency as a quarterback the sky's the limit for him.

[player_tooltip player_id='255745' first='Cole' last='Meehan'] Landsdale Catholic. Meehan probably has one of the strongest arms in the 2024 class. He also has great size for the position standing at 6'2. He is very good in the pocket and can make every throw. He is like a surgeon in the pocket throwing the ball into tight windows. He is also a good athletic that can make very subtle moves in the pocket and scramble when the opportunity comes up. Finally what stands out on Meehan's film is he stands in the pocket and takes a hit while delivering the ball. Meehan had a very good Junior year and with a great Senior year his recruitment should blow up.

[player_tooltip player_id='377418' first='Zac' last='Hahn'] Manheim Central. Hahn has a nice short compact delivery of the football. He can do it all at quarterback. On his film I saw him run for first downs on quarterback powers, but also make all the throws needed to win games. He is really good while throwing on the run, especially on sprint outs and bootlegs. He has great touch on the ball when he throws the deep ball. Also from the video you can see that Hahn has studied film and knows where he is gonna go with the ball most the time. Hahn's Junior year was really good, and I expect an even better Senior year.
