There was a lot of expectation and interest leading up to the Prep Redzone Showcase in Georgia. There were over 7 dozen players that participated in the Showcase. There were a lot of talented players on display for the event. One way or another, the following players shined all camp. Whether they shined during 1 v 1’s or simply passed the eye test, here are some guys that are “GameChangers”.
Ross played well in every aspect of the camp. In fact, he left the event as one of our MVPs. In the testing, Ross finished with an eye-opening 4.46 40-time and a 9 1/2 foot broad jump. His explosiveness and extra gear translated throughout the afternoon. During the competition segment of the showcase, he flashed yet another element of his game, his physicality. He was very aggressive in man coverage and wasn’t afraid to challenge WRs physically. With his combination of elite athleticism and length, it’s a matter of time before he breaks out onto the trail.
Taz Smith
Taz Smith
Taz Smith was one of the top performers of the WR group and generated buzz among many coaches and scouts at the event. Smith showed some explosiveness and acceleration during testing where he ran a 4.47 40, then would later show great body control and fluidity as the afternoon went on. Smith was among the best route runners in the WR group, quickly creating separation with crafty movement and quick footwork. He also showed the ability to go up and high point the football. Smith is set for a breakout senior season and put himself on the radar at our camp.
Green was arguably the top overall performer at the showcase, taking home one of the MVP awards. The FB/TE looks all of 6’1 230, easily making him one of the most physically impressive prospects. For a bigger guy, Green tested well with a sub 5.0 40-time and then broad jumped at 9’6. Green was able to showcase another element to his game, which is his ability to stretch the field vertically. He is a smooth route runner that can change direction with ease. Most importantly, he understands how to use his body to his advantage, shielding off faster and pesky defenders. With his versatility, Green is absolutely worthy of looks, and he is still young.
Highlights
Overall, Harper was one of the best athletes at the camp. The young LB ran a 4.6 40 then proceeded to jump 9’11 in the broad jump. Harper is an extremely well built LB with a low center of gravity and a strong lower body. As you could expect, his speed and athleticism allows him to run with anyone and play very well in coverage. Harper is yet another prospect that put himself on the map this weekend, As far as 2025 LBs are concerned, there aren’t many in the state as athletic as Harper.
T.J. Thomas
T.J. Thomas
The Brookwood School was well represented at the showcase. The school took home 2 of our MVPs, with one of them being Thomas. Thomas is a super athlete that lined up all over the field this past season, but showed out as a DB during the showcase. He is yet another prospect that is built extremely well with a stout lower body, allowing him to generate plenty of explosiveness. Thomas was one of the highlights of the camp with a 9.9 broad jump and would continue to show some fluidity and body control as the event went on. Thomas will make plays wherever you line him up, making him a true game changer.
Hauling from Mississippi, Nash was the biggest prospect at the camp and flashed some promise as the event went on. At 6’5 270, he certainly passes the eye test and has a high ceiling as a prospect. After watching Nash up close, it was clear that he improved with each rep. He plays with violence and has a strong punch with his long arms. Once he gets you tied up, it will be hard to escape from him. Nash has the size, power, and violence that you want in your offensive linemen. As he develops fundamentally, you could see his name start climbing up recruiting boards in the next few years.
