National Signing Day is rapidly approaching. Late offers will be flying out and commitments will start rolling here shortly. The Dakotas just had a QB sign with one of the Nations best colleges in the country (Kienholz- Ohio State.) I'm thinking that's what going to uncover a gold mine for the rest of the country. Not just for the QB position but all the way around, there are a lot of talented players in these two States. With South Dakota State and North Dakota State playing each other in the National Championship yesterday, proves this point almost just as much. With that being said, here are the Top 7 Uncommitted QB's remaining in the area (in my opinion.)

[player_tooltip player_id='56566' first='Rugby' last='Ryken']- Yankton, Highlights

Ryken was a fun prospect to watch progress over his career. My first year in the Dakotas was his sophomore year, where he took a few snaps each game under center. His talent was already there at a young age, but it was a lot of fun seeing his confidence grow as well! I like his poise on the run and his technique with his shoulders and feet, keeping the ball at a good level. He makes very quick, but good decisions with very accurate passes. The ball placement is very difficult for defenders to make plays on.

[player_tooltip player_id='101217' first='Lucas' last='Slack']- Brandon Valley, Highlights

Slack has had a tough career from my point of view. He had a lot of buzz coming into his Junior Season, which was cut short by an injury. I feel he'd have some more buzz if he had that whole season to build off of. He has a very nice spiral with a lot of zip on the ball to get the ball to his receivers quick. I liked his mobility to keep plays alive and make plays with his arm or legs. He is also a physical runner when he carries the football. Grinding out good chunks of yards when the offense needs them. He does an excellent job going through progressions and making the nest decision.

[player_tooltip player_id='160904' first='Owen' last='Cass']- Sturgis

Cass has a great frame for a next level QB. What's even better is his natural, quick release on his passes. He ran the RPO very wellm getting reads and then delivering a quick pass before the defense could react. His technique just seemed so smooth from his footwork to his release. Placing the ball in a good spot for his receivers to make plays after the catch. He made quick decisions, but still patient enough to go through reads, and could tuck and run for a big offensive play. I think his ceiling could be very high at QB at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='101184' first='Ryan' last='Krog']- Elkton- Lake Benton, Highlights

I've spoke with Krog once, a friend of his, and a guy he has worked for, all things we agreed upon, he's a humble kid. I first watched him as a Sophomore at QB and was impressed then. Fast forward two years later to his Senior year and you could see the vast improvements he made in his game as well as being a leader. He runs the offense extremely well and keeps the offense moving in the right direction. He throws an accurate ball from all ranges both in the pocket and on the run. His mobility makes him extremely dangerous to extend plays, or make long runs. The kid is a playmaker with the ball in his hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='395467' first='Kelby' last='Hett']- Harding County- Bison, Highlights

Every year I hear teams dreading to play Harding County-Bison. Seeing Hett's, film I can see why, the roster is full of talent and he does a good job distributing the ball to those athletes. Kett has good feet and QB mechanics when it comes to his hand position and throwing motion on the run. His long legs help him get out of the pocket and make throws on the run. He gets the ball out quick zips passes right into his receivers. His arm strength is also impressive, getting distance on the ball even when off balance.

[player_tooltip player_id='287085' first='Dylan' last='Elrod']- Harrisburg, Highlights

It's never easy following a Power 5 QB, too bad no one told Elrod that. The kid broke single season records (Yards, TD's, & Completions), in his one season at QB (Per @HHSTigerFBall). After watching him in the State Championship game, I saw that his fundamentals were clean and he throws a precise rocket. His deep passes hit his receivers in stride every time for the big plays. He has very good patience letting routes develop. The vision is impressive as well, avoiding defenders while staying in the pocket. Lastly, his mobility made him very difficult to corral.

[player_tooltip player_id='56576' first='Kyan' last='Barth']- Bismarck Century, Highlights

Barth's tape was impressive showing his ability. He also has good footwork and very fluent in his throwing motion. I liked his poise under pressure, he was able to scramble around and keep his eyes downfield to make a throw. He was very calm in the pocket and made some big throws under pressure. His arm strength made some impressive throws across the field. He also showed some good touch on the deep pass, dropping a lot in the bucket. Another impressive thing I saw on tape was his accuracy in tight windows. He squeezed a lot of passes through the smallest of windows for a high school QB and did it often.
