The latest 2025 rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma were released on Monday with the Top 100 for the state’s 2025 class. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down prospects throughout the rankings. From stock risers and newcomers to breakdowns by positions, it will be a busy week! So keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more on the 2025 class. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on five prospects that made significant jumps up in the latest ranking update. A couple prospects jumped up into the top ten while another prospect moved up 19 spots in the latest update.
Moved From #13 Overall To #3 Overall rnWagoner linebacker Alex Shieldnight Alex Shieldnight 6’3″ | 230 lbs | DL Wagoner | 2025 State OK only moved up ten spots in the recent ranking update but it was a dramatic jump. He went from #13 to #3 overall and he’s firmly established himself as one of the top prospects in the state, regardless of class. Shieldnight has had a very busy twelve months. He started getting interest from power five programs last spring and he kept that momentum going into the season as he was one of the top linebackers in the state. Shieldnight also plays a little bit of offense but it’s what he does on defense that has allowed him to earn offers from in-state powers Oklahoma and Oklahoma State and it appears that it’s just the start for the Wagoner star. Shieldnight is an absolute monster on the defensive side of the ball. And Wagoner has produced a few defensive standouts in the last decade.
Moved From #38 Overall To #24 Overall rnAnother defensive standout that made a big jump in the recent ranking update was Jenks cornerback Ashton Cunningham Ashton Cunningham 5’9″ | 135 lbs | DB Union | 2025 State OK , who moved from #38 overall to #24 overall and he’s holding on to the #2 spot for defensive backs. Cunningham was a player who absolutely exploded in 2022. The Trojans needed some new names to step up, specifically at cornerback and Cunningham earned his spot on the field. Speed is the number one trait that Cunningham has. He’s currently in track and he’s already putting together some really impressive times. Combine that legitimate track speed with his ability to cover a wide receiver and make plays in the open field, Cunningham is definitely a name to remember moving into the spring and summer. Every time we watched Cunningham in person in 2022, he was routinely one of the best athletes on the field.

Moved From #62 Overall To #43 Overall rnThe only small school standout (if you don’t think of Wagoner as a small school) is Pocola tight end Dakotah Terrell Dakotah Terrell 6’8″ | 205 lbs | WR Pocola | 2025 State OK . Now, full disclosure, we also handle the ranking updates on the basketball side with Prep Hoops Oklahoma and Terrell would also qualify as a “Stock Riser” in basketball as well. He’s having a fantastic sophomore season on the hardwood. So it’s going to be interesting moving forward to see how Terrell’s recruitment goes in the future because he has a chance to receive interest in both sports. Terrell is a very tall prospect that is a red zone nightmare for defenses. Pocola has a few prospects that are dual-sport stars and might have their choice of which sport they would like to play at the next level. Right now if we had to pick one sport over the other for Terrell, we’d probably lean to basketball.
Moved From #20 Overall To #9 Overall rnThe state’s 2025 quarterback class is special and Deer Creek signal caller Grady Adamson Grady Adamson 6’1″ | 215 lbs | QB Deer Creek | 2025 State OK has joined the other three elite quarterbacks in the class within the top ten. Adamson is in the conversation with David McComb David McComb 6’3″ | 215 lbs | QB Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK , Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK and Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK for top quarterback in the 2025 class. Adamson had a really strong sophomore campaign, in his first season as a starter. Adamson set the tone early in the offseason, prior to his sophomore season and that helped him become a leader within the Deer Creek offense, despite being just a sophomore. Adamson was also one of the top quarterback standouts at our camp over the weekend. We’re looking forward to seeing more of Adamson as the 7v7 season gets cranked up. It seems like Adamson is just scratching the surface on what he’ll be in a few years as this class gets older.

Moved From #44 Overall To #30 Overall rnChoctaw loses quite a bit of experience and production to graduation but for those that think the Yellowjackets might take a step back in 2023, that would be a mistake. A prospect that is on the verge of blowing up in a big way is Choctaw wide receiver and defensive back JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5’8″ | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK . Last season, the Yellowjackets primarily used Smith as a wide receiver but he’s also shown in the offseason while playing 7v7 that he can play defensive back when necessary. Smith was an outstanding slot receiver for the Yellowjackets last year and the Choctaw coaches used him in a perfect way. They would get it out to him on a screen and the Yellowjackets had size and skill on the outside that embraced blocking down field. We don’t think it’s crazy to think that the majority of Smith’s receiving yards in 2022 were after the catch.
