Continue ReadingWhere Ivan Bailey-Greene Ivan Bailey-Greene 5’10” | 245 lbs | DL St. Joseph’s Prep | 2024 State PA lacks in size and frame, he makes up for in speed and hand/foot quickness ten times over. The number of defensive linemen standing under six feet tall that place inside the top 250 is low, to begin with. The junior Hawk knows he’s going to have to win with leverage and speed, his tape shows exactly that. Pausing after the snap of the football, you can see Bailey-Greene win with a quick initial burst off the ball, leaving slow guards reaching more often than not. Gap versatile, the junior can line up in either A gap or even head-up on guards if need be. His extensive reps utilizing leverage will work wonders for his stock in the future. He earns everything on the field.
Fun prospect to discover and break down. Nicholas Rogers Nicholas Rogers 6’5″ | 230 lbs | DL Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State PA has one of the higher ceilings of any of the top 50 defensive linemen ranked in his class. A lean 235-pound pass rusher that moves his 6’5 frame well with his hand in the dirt. Rogers will intrigue college coaches from an athlete perspective. This kid is still highly moldable, he shouldn’t be put in a positional box, something Archbishop Ryan doesn’t plan on doing. His junior tape proves it. Reps at quarterback, EDGE, with hand in the dirt or off. I wouldn’t be surprised if this young man could provide decent reps at TE even. Rogers is green and raw in all aspects, expect him to be a candidate to start on both sides of the ball as a senior.
Philly Public League big man who is currently holding a Division One offer from Delaware State, a program that has been active in the Philadelphia area for some years now. Offensive line reps are impressive, yet I like his aggressive nature and tone-setting ability on the defensive side of the football. Often too massive for Public League guards to handle. Sheer force alone can get Devon Jackson Devon Jackson 6’3″ | 290 lbs | DL Simon Gratz | 2024 State PA in the backfield. If Jackson develops further shedding techniques along the interior, he’d be a factor to jump into the top 50 of his class. He’s ways away from that, even from a production standpoint. That being said, Devon Jackson Devon Jackson 6’3″ | 290 lbs | DL Simon Gratz | 2024 State PA is a sleeper name to watch for moving forward.

One of my favorite rising names in the state, Michael Blidi Michael Blidi 6’2″ | 220 lbs | DL Milton Hershey | 2024 State PA jumps from unranked to top 20 in his position, a position that is littered with FBS talent. Blidi fits the FBS mold and has earned an FCS-floor grade out of me. Huge praise coming from Prep Redzone. Production might not seem like a plus on the surface, watch the tape and you can see his low sack numbers could be tripled easily. 6’2, 215 pounds, Blidi provides an athletic build for a versatile role at Milton Hershey. You can find him rushing the passer with his hand on the dirt. Next, you can find him playing flat/curl zones in pass coverage, even picking off passes which at his size is a rarity. Next, Blidi is pursuing the ball carrier off the edge at OLB, closing speed is a plus. Can finish at the quarterback too. FBS potential with Blidi.

Limited tape out of SCH’s Mitch Karp Mitch Karp 6’7″ | 275 lbs | DL Springside Chestnut Hill Academy | 2024 State PA , a 6’7, 250-pound project that could blossom into a special talent on either side of the football. If production was doubled, I’d have no problem ranking Karp inside the top 250. His size will garner collegiate attention, that’s a given. If he can multiply his number of quality reps, he could easily be a name to watch amongst PSAC boards. Would love to see how well he’d perform at the offensive tackle position as well, he fits the mold from a frame perspective. I wouldn’t call his feet slow or his hips stiff either, which is a plus on both sides of the ball. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how he improves this offseason, both from a development and a stature standpoint.

I first saw this young man tearing through the trenches at a game I attended against Germantown Academy. He wasn’t on radar or the rankings at that time. His play left an impression on me, now he’s ranked amongst some of the state’s best defensive linemen. There is real wiggle in this kid’s game. He can split double-teams and down-block attempts due to his quick first step off the snap, as well as his ability to get his limbs inside the gap to create leverage in his favor. Alphonso Koukou Alphonso Koukou 6’2″ | 275 lbs | DL Episcopal Academy | 2024 State PA lands on the athletic end of the IDL spectrum. He reminds me a ton of LaSalle’s Darold Dengohe Darold Dengohe 6’3″ | 280 lbs | DL LaSalle College | 2023 State PA , in both athleticism, style, and build. Watch for a Dengohe-type rise in store for Episcopal Academy’s Alphonso Koukou Alphonso Koukou 6’2″ | 275 lbs | DL Episcopal Academy | 2024 State PA .
