With an incomplete pass in the endzone, St. Teresa was able to come away with a 29 to 22 win adding a new trophy to the trophy collection. With that being said, there are talented young men on both sides of the ball and we’re here to highlight them. Without further ado, let’s dive into the Tri-Valley Standouts.

Blake Regenold
Blake Regenold
Mr. Regenold is a dominant halfback that has been nothing short of spectacular this fall season being a workhorse, the same was seen in this matchup as he set a new record for all time carries in 2A football during a state championship game. He finished the night with 43 carries for 215 yards with 2 TDs, 2 kick returns for 59 yards, and 2 tackles. This young man is a downhill runner using his big frame to his advantage and breaks weak grab tackles by keeping his feet driving to play through contact. His ability to find running lanes quickly between the tackles is impressive as one he does he puts his head down to play through contact. One play that stood out the most was in the redzone where he kept his feet driving through initial contact where he was met 5 yards behind the sticks for a first down and was able to fight for the first down while there were multiple defenders trying to bring him down.
Andy Knox
Andy Knox
Mr. Knox finished the day 7/15 for 109 yards adding on 1 TD, 1 INT and 21 carries for 72 yards. This dual threat QB was able to get it done in the run game running the option using his legs to stay ahead of the sticks. In the air attack, he can add zip on the ball putting the ball into tight windows at times to keep the chains moving and can stand strong in the pocket with a defender in his face to hit his man downfield on a level 2 throw. He can also add a touch on level 3 throws putting the ball right where his receiver can go up to get it. Throughout the night, he was able to break long runs in the ground game and continued to stay in this game after taking hit after hit. What stood out the most to me was his leadership and poise late in the game on the final drive where his team was marching downfield and almost came away with the last second TD as time expired. That is exactly what you want out of someone at the helm of your offense, giving you a chance to win games when time is about to expire and keeping his composure to give your team the best shot.
Mr. Fatima has been on my radar since I saw him play LIVE last season in a playoff matchup against Wilmington. In today’s matchup, he finished with 2 receptions for 44 yards along with 2 carries for 8 yards and 2 tackles. This young man was used on jet sweeps to turn the corner to stay ahead of the sticks and flashed his ability to be a threat in the return game setting his team up in solid starting field position. Where he really came through was in the air attack where he was able to win over the top on a deep shot downfield and track the ball in to secure the catch with the defender on his hip. He also used his catch radius to high point the ball playing above the rim to secure a contested catch across the middle of the field.
TJ Klein
TJ Klein
Mr. Klein works as an offensive lineman that is a lead blocker when he pulls to make kickout blocks. This creates a lane for his ball carrier to hit which is exactly what happened all night long resulting in over 200 rushing yards on the day. He can also wash the defensive lineman down and get a push up front when drive blocking. Throughout the entire matchup this young man did a good job controlling the line of scrimmage and creating lanes for his ball carrier to hit – talk about an impressive lineman performance.
Brennan Thoele
Brennan Thoele
Mr. Thoele works on the other side of the ball being a force as a defensive lineman in this matchup. He finished with 3 tackles and 2.0 TFLs on the day. This young man was able to do so by shooting gaps to disrupt plays in the backfield and plugging aps for no gain. Even if he wasn’t able to come away with the tackle when plugging the gaps, this allowed for his linebackers to stay free to secure the tackle on the play either at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield.
Colton Prosser
Colton Prosser
Mr. Prosser came up big late in the game for his team on a 4th down conversion to keep the drive alive on a big gain downfield. This is where his 1 reception for 33 yards came into play and he almost came away with another deep shot downfield which would have been another 30+ yarder but this time going for 6 along the sideline. The potential that this young man flashes in these high pressure moments are one to keep an eye on as it showed he can come up big for his team when they need it.
