Mr. Fatima has been on my radar since I saw him play LIVE last season in a playoff matchup against Wilmington. In today’s matchup, he finished with 2 receptions for 44 yards along with 2 carries for 8 yards and 2 tackles. This young man was used on jet sweeps to turn the corner to stay ahead of the sticks and flashed his ability to be a threat in the return game setting his team up in solid starting field position. Where he really came through was in the air attack where he was able to win over the top on a deep shot downfield and track the ball in to secure the catch with the defender on his hip. He also used his catch radius to high point the ball playing above the rim to secure a contested catch across the middle of the field.

Mr. Fatima is a talented receiver that I had the chance to see in person during the playoffs last season. To sum it up, he didn’t disappoint. His ability to go up for 50/50 balls and track the ball on deep shots downfield are one to keep an eye on heading into this season. There’s talent across all levels here in IL and Mr. Fatima is a prime example of a 2A student-athlete that has the potential to play at the next level. Turn on his film and see for yourself.
