Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase: Recruit Tracker & TE Standouts

In <strong>Part I,</strong> although we didn't have a set tight end position at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, we show off the<strong> three</strong> tight ends from Aberdeen that need to be on more college football radars. We also look into our <strong>recruit tracker</strong> in <strong>Part II</strong> with our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase on Sunday, December 4th; who has picked off offers or committed after the showcase? Coming into our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, Alex showed a consistent fluidity with his change of direction, logging in the low 4.6s in the shuttle and just under a 7.5 in the L-drill. At nearly 6'3 and 220 pounds, Alex shows a sizeable burst out of his stance to get into the open field with sizeable separation. I also really like Alex's catch radius, as he shows great hands even with a subpar throw coming his way but has the strength and athletic ability to bring it into his chest. He shows a big motor that I would love to acquire at the next level in a college program, as his hangtime on his punts shows off solid consistency and great range inside the 20. He shows off a well-versed pad level on both ends of the ball and the elusive traits to get open and can work his hands into small areas to make a key reception with high-traffic nearby. With Gavin, you will be getting a prospect that has swift hands to off-gauge contact from the defender as his hands on tape show off an athletic swipe to get off the snap quickly. He shows off a lot of instincts on both sides of the ball and that quick trigger with his hands in pursuit. He's got some development brewing with his finished run on intermediate routes, but I feel this young man would strive in a college weight by grooming that athletic technique with his hands to adjust very quickly when he needs to become a blocking tight end. Carson is an extremely long-striding tight end with some excellent creativity genes and his route-running ability. He shows off the ideal next-level stance I look for when evaluating the tight-end position out of the snap as he shows a durable presence in his 6'4 frame that is not afraid to take on tacklers after the catch off first and multiple ends of contact. I also came away intrigued with his change of direction at the Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, as it also shows out on a tape on how well this young man can run in the open field. There are not too many early clips of Carson's blocking from the TE spot; however, when he does show it off, there is something to love about the finish and pad level that Carson plays with from start to finish of his rep.
