Continue ReadingThe secret is out on Durrell Ceasar Durrell Ceasar 6’1″ | 180 lbs | WR Steelton-Highspire | 2024 State PA . He’s made the climb into the elite tier of wideouts after being on the cusp of elite status after his sophomore campaign. He’s earned his top-ten rank and top-60 placement. Elite separation skills, Durrell Ceasar Durrell Ceasar 6’1″ | 180 lbs | WR Steelton-Highspire | 2024 State PA will flash his incredible ball skills and high-pointing ability in 7v7 settings, put on the pads and he can separate at will. Temple is in on the young pass-catcher, only a matter of time before Akron and other G5 programs act.
Highlights
The production out of Jaylen Andrew is undeniable. 60 receptions, 1,400 yards, and 26 touchdowns is a line that cannot be ignored regardless of class, measurables, or recruitment status. Good thing is, Jaylen Andrews Jaylen Andrews 6’3″ | 180 lbs | WR Loyalsock Township | 2024 State PA is already carrying the prototypical FBS build, standing at 6’2, 180 pounds, with DB reps under his belt as well. Andrews makes an incredible leap, from being unranked to a top ten wideout and a top 70 overall prospect.
Nymeir Appling Nymeir Appling 6’2″ | 185 lbs | WR Father Judge | 2024 State PA jumps 120+ spots, moves to the WR position, and is expected to get D1 looks anytime this off-season. Even if he doesn’t, Appling is another 6’2, 180-pound pass-catcher that has legitimate tape on both sides of the ball. He’s one of the few prospects on this list that might be a better DB than wideout. That’s not for me to decide, thankfully. All I know is, I’ve seen this kid produce against outstanding talent in the Philadelphia Catholic League. I trust his hands as much as any on this list.
Highlights
Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6’2″ | 200 lbs | WR Armstrong | 2024 State PA might have seen a small dip in both positional and overall rank, yet that is primarily due to the influx of offensive linemen added into the top 50. Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6’2″ | 200 lbs | WR Armstrong | 2024 State PA is still a name for FBS programs to watch. I expect him to be a dominant FCS WR/OLB, yet I’d label his ceiling high above that. Coastal Carolina and Kent State love prospects that fit this mold, they might even like him at LB over WR. His connection with Cadin Olsen Cadin Olsen 6’5″ | 225 lbs | QB Armstrong | 2023 State PA was beautiful to watch, the production week in and week out was inevitable. Watch for this big-bodied wideout to continue on his FBS path, even with Olsen moving on to the next level.
We’ve reflected our feelings of Manheim Township quarterback Hayden Johnson Hayden Johnson 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Manheim Township | 2024 State PA , yet we haven’t been able to give his primary pass-catcher Landon Kennel Landon Kennel 6’3″ | 200 lbs | WR Manheim Township | 2024 State PA his flowers. We can now, as Kennel has leaped into the top 100 alongside his signal caller. Manheim Township will go into next Fall with quite possibly the best QB/WR duo in all of Central Pennsylvania. I can legitimately see Kennel becoming the highest-ranking WR without an FBS offer by the time preseason rolls around in 2023. Would love to see this kid at our Winter and May camps.
Here’s another receiver prospect that has debuted inside the top 100. Believe it or not, it’s a modest rank because of how fresh his game is to me. Usually, when a prospect is set to debut on the list, I’ll keep them inside of the Top 200, using a “wait and see” approach before providing such a high rank. Had to break this with Hunter Aquino Hunter Aquino 6’5″ | 190 lbs | WR Academy of the New Church | 2024 State PA . 6’5, dominant physical presence on both sides of the ball. Awesome production tied to his connection with his Brother Conner Aquino Conner Aquino 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB Academy of the New Church | 2024 State PA . I do not doubt that this young man will continue on the path he is on. Must factor in how he excels on the Lacrosse field as well. He’s building Division One status in both sports.
For months, almost years, Dereon Greer Dereon Greer 6’1″ | ATH Our Lady Sacred Heart | 2024 State PA has clamored for recognition like this. I wasn’t sure he was worthy of it at the time. He proved to be more than worthy of this rank after the Fall he and OLSH put together. 50+ receptions with plenty of mouths to feed, 1,000+ yards, and 12 touchdowns, again, with plenty of mouths to feed in this offense. Like many on this list, Greer will provide quality two-way reps. Yet his playmaking ability will make him the primary focus of opposing defenses next Fall. Testing numbers will be crucial in whether or not Greer can elevate his status to the FBS level. How fast he can run his forty will say a lot in particular.
Danny Dyches Danny Dyches 6’4″ | 185 lbs | WR Souderton | 2024 State PA might have the highest floor of any wide receiver listed in this piece. He might be one of the more college-ready wideouts on our 2024 ranks as well. Dyches, despite not serving as the primary target, or having a high-volume passer throw him the rock, still managed to rack up 870 yards on 40 catches this Fall. How high is his ceiling? Can Souderton unlock this kid’s full potential? There’s no doubt the coaching staff can do so, just a matter of seeing it come to life. Dyches is a lock to attain FCS suitors at his current level, something every wideout on this list can’t say. I fully expect to rerank Dyches inside the top 10 this off-season.
