Mitchell has been an unreal talent for Thompson in his time there, he has consistently been one of the top DBs in the nation, and has racked up a recorded total of 7 interceptions (3 for TDs), 29 pass breakups, and 257 total tackles over the last four seasons. With consistent play like that, Mithcell has maintained his spot as the #1 player in his class- be sure to keep track of him in the future! It won't be hard to, he's sure to make some big plays for the Crimson Tide over the next few years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='125522' first='AJ' last='Harris']-DB |Central|</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='125522' first='AJ' last='Harris'] was an extremely talented two-way player for Central, producing greatly in all phases of the game year after year. Harris has an enormous amount of talent, his size, speed, hands, and instincts allowed him to be a threat in every facet of the game. If on offense, he easily took carries the distance from out the backfield, and routinely made huge catches downfield as a pass catcher too. On special teams, Harris used the same superior athleticism to routinely place his team in great field position when fielding kicks/punts. Defensively, however, is where Harris is a clear-cut phenom- his skill to make plays against opposing QBs is some of the best in the nation. Russaw has a massive future as an edge rusher, his talent rushing the passer and getting in the backfield is undeniable- in his career at Carver Russaw was a consistent double-digit sack, 100+ tackle a year guy- in his junior season, Russaw put up some unfathomable stats- posting 16 sacks, 130 tackles, and 27.5 tackles for loss, Paired up with another member of our Top 5, [player_tooltip player_id='324479' first='James' last='Smith'], Carver's defensive front has been unstoppable for years, with Russaw being a massive reason why. Smith has a ton of power, speed, acceleration, and finesse at a great size- his ability to make big plays is effortless and seriously fun to watch. As mentioned earlier, Carver's defensive front has seriously been insane with Smith and Russaw both lined up making plays- their defense has been a large reason why their team is so successful, with Carver going 9-2 this fall. Keep an eye out for Smith next fall as well! He will be joining Russaw at Alabama and is sure to be an impact player!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='125529' first='Peter' last='Woods']-DL |Thompson|</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='125529' first='Peter' last='Woods'] is another member of Thompson's talent-stacked defense and consistently has been an unreal playmaker since his freshman year. In his career at Thompson, Woods totaled up 259 tackles, 70 tackles for loss, and 29.5 sacks, consistently dominating on the defensive line and contributing to an unstoppable 4x state title defense. Woods has a ton of power, burst, and speed, and is an incredible tackler- no matter how much talent the ball carrier he has, they won't be avoiding a player like Woods. Keep track of him next fall as he heads to Clemson! Woods is going to be a dominant player that could easily see some playing time early.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
