With that, it’s time to discuss a few players from the class of 2023 that I believe deserve ranking bumps in our updated rankings.
Bishop McDevitt is a wide receiver we had ranked WAY TOO LOW entering this season and that’s going to change now. This season, Russell was arguably the best wide receiver in the Keystone State regardless of class and gave 2025 quarterback Stone Saunders Stone Saunders 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Bishop McDevitt | 2025 State PA a tremendous weapon alongside 2024 prospect Rico Scott Rico Scott 6’0″ | 185 lbs | WR Bishop McDevitt | 2024 State PA . This season, Russell brought in 47 receptions for 1,124 yards and 16 touchdowns. Russell is going to be in for a huge ranking jump, well into our top-25.

Simmons was coming off a very good junior season for Meadville but had followed that up with an even better senior season. The 5-foot-9 tailback totaled 2,2276 yarsd and 40 touchdowns this season over 12 games. He also added 185 receiving yards and three touchdowns on the season. He may not be the biggest running back but he’ll be able to fit in almost any offense at the next level.
The Haverford tight end and Rice commitment flew under my radar personally but there’s a lot of reasons to like Falk. He has great size for the position at 6-foot-6 and shows the ability to be a threat both in the passing attack but also as a strong run blocker. There’s still a bit he needs to work on with the smaller things in his game but he has a chance to become a quality FBS tight end for Rice. He’ll move into my personal top-100.
The two-way athlete recently committed to Penn State as a preferred walk-on. While he didn’t put up dominating stats on either side of the ball, he’s just such a quality player overall, doing a lot of the smaller things right and can fit on either side of the ball. Great size at 6-foot-4 and 230-pounds which could allow him to play tight end or defensive end at the next level.
Lovelace plays both ways for Leechburg but will be heading to Pittsburgh next year as a linebacker. We have him in our top-60 but he’ll be moving into my personal top-30 or even top-25 in our next ranking update. Lovelace is storng in coverage but also can play downhill which will present the opportuntiy for him to be a three-down linebacker at the next level. Thanks to his size and skil set, Lovelace could possibly be a hybrid type player as well for the Panthers, playing a combination of linebacker and safety.
Mason Hoppes
Mason Hoppes
Someone we actually didn’t have in our rankings is Hughesville Mason Hoppes. He’s not the biggest, fastest, or more athletic linebacker but at the end of the day, very few players have the production that Hoppes did this season.
The senior totaled 196, yes you read that right, 196 total tackles for Hughesville this season including 21 tackles for a loss and two sacks. He’s a storng fundemantal linebacker. C0uld be a huge steal for someone late in the cycle.
High quality corner prosepct whose production this year was pheonomneal. He totaled 53 tackles this season including four tackles for a loss. In pass coverage, he was an absolute menace for opposign quarterbacks, totaling 11 interceptions and three additional pass deflections. He also recovered four fumbles this season. His bump may not be as big as other players but he’ll be in my top 50 at the very least.

Another player where I’m going to preach production. Reynolds may not have your protoypical size at 6-foot-2 for a defensive end but he’s still got a strong quick step, quality burst, and is fundamentally sound. This season, Reynolds totaled 101 tackles including 29 tackles for a loss and 29.5 sacks through 11 games. He also recently received a PWO offer from Penn State. He’ll move into my personal top-50.
