Last Friday Washington (MO) made the trip into St. Charles county for a GAC battle against the Francis Howell Central Spartans and I was there to watch multiple D1 linemen in action. He's my take.

FRANCIS HOWELL CENTRAL

[player_tooltip player_id='392792' first='Karson' last='Webster'] | 2024 | 6'7" 320 | OL |

Webster is a massive offensive line prospect who moves extremely well for his size and has a lot of potential. He's a good athlete and has quick feet from playing basketball. He did a nice job going against a D1 prospect all night long in his run blocking, but also in his pass pro using his agility, feet and long arms. He's physical and strong and is still learning. Karson is already receiving attention from D1 schools.

Nick Ortinau | 2023 | 6'2" 185 | QB |

The senior QB Orintau was impressive all around on the evening with his poise, leadership, passing ability and how he led his team to come back in the last minute of the game from behind. Nick throws a nice, very accurate ball with good velocity, touch and placement. He also showed great toughness getting back up and coming back out to finish strong and win the game. He finished the night 13 of 18 for 228 yards and two touchdowns, and also showed good mobility in running for an additional 31 yards.

Keith Johnson | 2023 | 6'0" 180 | WR |

Johnson put on a show with his speed, route running and above all else ability to catch the ball. He did a nice job getting open and getting space against defenders, but he also made the tough catch that helped his team secure the victory. An underrated prospect who caught 5 passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='207493' first='Will' last='Thomas'] | 2023 | 5'10" 170 | WR |

Thomas was another big play receiver for the Spartans averaging over 23 yards per catch on 5 catches for 118 yards. He helped keep his team in the game and eventually win it. He also showed good speed, quickness and receiving ability.

WASHINGTON

[player_tooltip player_id='262940' first='Mark' last='Hensley'] | 2023 | 6'4 " 265 | DL |

Hensley was the best linemen in a game with multiple D1 linemen on the field. Mark had 7 tackles with 4 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The Northern Illinois commit showed explosive pass rushing ability and was very physical in dominating opposing offensive linemen. He is hearing from other D1 schools but hasn't shown much interet to this point, instead focusing on his season.

[player_tooltip player_id='101697' first='Trevor' last='Buhr'] | 2023 | 6'4" 270 | DT/OL |

The Iowa State commit Buhr also had a dominant performance with 4 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble. Buhr is a very athletic lineman who still has a lot of upside and potential to reach. He's still raw but is able to used his size and athleticism to make plays on defense and be one of the Blue Jays top blockers on the offensive line.

[player_tooltip player_id='211025' first='Ryan' last='Jostes'] | 2024 | 6'6" 265 | OT/ATH |

The junior Jostes is next up among the Blue Jay football players to be heavily recruited by D1 schools. Ryan is a big athlete who has primarily played tight end until recently but projects to offensive tackle on the next level. He is a devastating run blocker who has shown great potential with his pass pro in training. He is currently playing defensive line and looks the part there as well. He has recently picked p offers from Kansas, Louisville, Memphis and Iowa State.

[player_tooltip player_id='125256' first='Landon' last='Boston'] | 2024 | 5'9" 175 | RB |

The speedy Boston showed his running ability using his quickness and direction changing ability to rush for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries. Boston is also a touch runner between the tackles and in short yardage. He takes a hit and bounces off defenders pretty well keeping he legs and feet churning.

Last Friday Washington (MO) made the trip into St. Charles county for a GAC battle against the Francis Howell Central Spartans and I was there to watch multiple D1 linemen in action. He's my take.
