Nixa Vs. Republic: “Difference Makers” Friday Night Lights.

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last Friday night was a battle of one of the best teams in 5A being the tough Republic Tigers, and the high powered juggernaut of 6A the Nixa Eagles. Last Friday he served as Adam Mcknight's trusted security blanket when his Quarterback starts to flee out of the pocket or get a little uncomfortable he usually looks for Mabe some where down field. Mabe showcased a good feel as to get open and sit in those open zones in the defense. Elijah Broshar was definitely up to that tall task by controlling the line of scrimmage all night long. He maintained his gap in the run game, while showing off highly impressive strength to knock back the republic interior offensive lineman. Usually playing out on the edge of the defense at OLB Henegar had multiple tackles where he really had to work through the trash to find the ballcarrier. Republic uses alot of pulling guards and lead blockers in their offensive attack and Henegar did a great job taking on opposing blockers and making the play. He always seems to get his defense in the right positions that are needed and seems to be doing a good job three weeks into the season with Nixa boasting a 3-0 record and headed into another great matchup with the Webb City Cardinals. Last weekend Weldon virtually shut down the tigers ground attack showing his toughness in the teeth of the defense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for [player_tooltip player_id='1323487' first='Weston' last='Weldon']. He continually took the football on HB dives right in the teeth of a formidable Nixa defense all night long and jumped right off the ground hungry for another carry. He runs with a impressive lower center of gravity and runs behind his pads churning his legs forward for extra yardage. Lashley has a great jump cut that he likes to use in traffic to set up his running ability. I'm a huge fan of Lashley and I think he's going to have a great final two years of high school football.
