The senior signal caller leads the whole city league in passing yards & touchdowns. Butler aren’t pushovers either, arriving to this week’s matchup a formidable 4-2 thus far. Roderick Jeter Roderick Jeter 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Westinghouse | 2023 State PA , Keyshawn Morsillo Keyshawn Morsillo 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Westinghouse | 2023 State PA , Sincere Smith Sincere Smith 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Westinghouse | 2023 State PA and Khalil Taylor Khalil Taylor 5'9" | 160 lbs | DB Westinghouse | 2023 State PA are some of the Westinghouse leaders. Butler High has a very interesting prospect, 6’1 170 pound cornerback Braylon Littlejohn. Besides the junior DB Littlejohn, the Tornadoes will definitely expect production from WR Dashawn Cox, Safety Mac Schnur and OL Brock Popovich.
Jeter is an FBS recruit that’s been offered by Akron & FCS Saint Francis so far. He’s strong enough to play Will LB but athletic enough to be a SS or Nickelback. Rod has a high football IQ and he diagnoses plays fast on the go. Jeter’s motor allows him to play sideline to sideline with great strength & physicality. He has a great nose for the ball & tempos plays aggressively in pursuit. Jeter’s ball skills are great along with his blitzing & zone-dropping ability. Roderick delivers bone-crunching hits on defense & displays nimbleness & athleticism at RB on offense.
Sincere is on some D1 radars, but he’s already secured offers from D2 Fayetteville State, Notre Dame, Fairmont & Bluefield State respectively. Smith has above-average stop-and-go speed mixed with balance. His strength allows him to break tackles & get YAC yards effortlessly. He’s also able to maintain top-end speed once he decides to accelerate. Sincere is an overall smooth route runner with playmaking ability & sustainable speed.
Keyshawn has gotten FBS & FCS attention, but he recently picked up his first offer from Division 2 Lock Haven. Morsillo is a smooth dual-threat QB with a quick release. He projects well in an RPO slash zone read scheme. Key’s a good athlete with good size standing at 6’3. His anticipation & placement is good on his short & intermediate crossing patterns. Keyshawn also throws well off of play-action & RPO-style plays. As far as elusiveness goes he has great escapability & is dangerous outside the pocket. Keyshawn is good at distributing the ball & getting it to his playmakers in space on all 3 levels. The senior signal caller improvises well on broken plays & throws great on the run overall.
Deshaun Blackwell
Deshaun Blackwell
Deshaun currently has Division 2 offers from Bluefield State & Fairmont State. He plays with a good pad level & good DB fundamentals. Deshaun maintains good speed & tempo in his backpedal. He’s a good athlete with decent ball skills in coverage also. The senior DB transitions & breaks on the football well without any wasted movements. Blackwell is a little light at 150 lbs, but he isn’t afraid to deliver the blow. Deshaun possesses good CB height at 6’0 to contest bigger WRs on 50/50 balls. The 2023 product will get bigger once he’s in a college weight program.
Taymir has good speed & athleticism for DB collegiately. He has good hips and stays square in his pedal. He has good anticipation & ball skills in man or zone coverages. Most of the defensive backs play both corner and safety for Westinghouse like Taymir. O’neal has the type of speed to maintain good positioning on deep passes versus speedy wideouts. He triggers to run support & runs the alley fast which is a sign of his IQ & toughness.
Taylor is an explosive athlete overall but I like him as a college defensive back. At RB he displays breakaway speed & athleticism that easily translates to defensive back. He transitions well and anticipates passes equally as impressive. Khalil is also a good Blitzer that isn’t afraid of contact. Taylor’s speed makes him a dangerous return man that’s capable of taking it the distance at any time.
Davon Jones
Davon Jones
Davon has been contacted by D2 programs in the early stages of his recruitment. DJ is a playmaker with game-breaking ability. His speed stretches defenses because he’s capable of scoring from anywhere on the field. Jones has another gear when the ball is in the air on deep routes. He’s also good at press releasing & maneuvering past the re-router in the slot. Jones has impressive ball skills tracking over-the-shoulder throws on fades & seam routes. DJ will be a very dangerous kick returner in a college program.
Braylon Littlejohn
Braylon Littlejohn
Braylon is a large CB with good feet & hips. He’s a dual sport star in basketball & Football for Butler HS. The 6’2 DB has good instincts mixed with speed. He has decent quick twitch plus he transitions well bailing on fade routes. Braylon is good in press & contests the ball at the highest point. At WR he has a knack for going up and getting the 50/50 ball. He’s a willing tackler & displayed it getting TFLs on screens & swing routes. Littlejohn doesn’t have any offers, but I believe he has FCS size & ability.
Mac Schnur
Mac Schnur
Mac primarily plays zone coverage on defense at the CB position & he’s also the QB1 for Butler High School. He plays the ball well at the maximum height competitively. The senior defensive back has acceptable enough speed for the position & projects as a lower-level free safety. He’s tough & isn’t afraid to orchestrate big collisions on contact either.
Dashawn Cox
Dashawn Cox
Dashawn has Slot WR abilities offensively & SS skills on defense. Cox lines up in the slot & the backfield for Butler High. His athleticism & cutting ability is evident when he has the football. He has good speed mixed with reliable strong hands. He’s physical and athletically gifted enough to play SS on the scholarship levels as well. He blitzes well off the edge & from depth equally effectively. Dashawn runs good routes & gets in and out of his breaks swiftly. DC had a good post-corner reception on his mid-season film that displayed his WR potential collegiately.
Brock Popovich
Brock Popovich
Brock is tough and has good mobility at OL. He runs his feet well on contact & has focus when finishing plays. Popovich is a thumper that battles until the whistle sounds. He plays tackle but is best equipped to play Guard or center collegiately. Pop also plays DT & redirects well in pursuit of the football. His physicality shows up on offense & defense.
