You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE. In this post, we’re taking a look at some of the top athletes in the state’s 2025 class. These prospects have emerged as versatile standouts who could end up playing a few different positions at the high school and college level. Stay tuned throughout the week for more 2025 prospect breakdowns. And keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the month for the 2024 and 2023 prospect rankings.
Before the season, we picked Carl Albert to not only win Class 5A this season, but to win three in a row. And a big reason behind that is the young and talented classes they have. There are three Titans among the top 33 prospects in the latest ranking update for the 2025 class. And there’s no doubt that Billy McDown Billy McDown 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK is the most versatile of the bunch and that’s what’s earned him his spot as an athlete in the recent ranking update. We’ve mentioned this a few times already this year but Carl Albert coaches are very excited about not only where McDown is right now but where he’ll be in a few years. They’ve used him in a variety of ways already this season and whether it’s on offense or defense, McDown has the ability to be a gamechanger on a team that looks like they’re full of them.

It’s been an up and down year for Jenks as the two-time defending 6A-1 champs have battled injuries seemingly all season. But that has opened the door for some new names to emerge in the lineup and the Trojans are building depth as younger players have played significant roles already this year. One of those players is Boston Carrasco Boston Carrasco 5’10” | 170 lbs | ATH Union | 2025 State OK , who more than likely would have had a significant role regardless of the injury situation this year. Whether it’s at running back or defensive back, Carrasco is going to be a name to watch moving forward. Right now, it seems like he has more momentum on the offensive side of the ball and that might be where he inevitably ends up when it comes to the next level. We’re looking forward to seeing how he closes out his sophomore season.

This might be a bold statement but out of the five prospects on this list, no prospect has been more versatile this season than Cale Marley Cale Marley 5’9″ | 170 lbs | ATH Rejoice Christian | 2025 State OK at Rejoice Christian. On offense, he’s been a wide receiver and last week he filled in for quarterback, which might be where he’s playing the next two seasons. On defense, he’s fit in as a safety and even come up and looked the part as a linebacker. And then Marley has been one of the better kick returners in the state over the last season and a half of football. There’s a lot of talk about Rejoice Christian this year and a lot of it revolves around senior star quarterback Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK . But this is a great team full of young talent as well. Marley has an incredibly high ceiling with where he can end up as a prospect when you consider his versatility and playmaking ability.

With Moore sophomore standout CJ Simon CJ Simon 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Moore | 2025 State OK , it might be becoming more and more obvious that it’s time to move him over to wide receiver considering that’s where he’s played essentially his entire season this year. But man can he make an impact just about anywhere you line him up when it comes to skill positions on offense. Last year, Simon had a breakout year while backing up Marcus Dockins at running back and also spending time at wide receiver. This year, he’s become one of the top targets for senior quarterback Denver Wolfe Denver Wolfe 5’11” | QB Moore | 2023 State OK , who is having a monster year throwing the ball. Because of that, Simon has put up some really impressive numbers. He might just be a wide receiver at this point but we can’t help but think about him lining up at running back or returning kicks as well.

We got our first chance to see Choctaw sophomore JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5’8″ | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK in person this offseason while he played 7v7 with Sooner 7. And from the first tournament we watched him in, we could tell that there was something there. Better known as JuJu, Smith had a breakout freshman season and has only continued to build on that this fall. Smith impressed us this offseason with his ability to make plays on offense, be a steady presence on defense at safety and then he was a vocal player throughout. Smith might not have the cookie cutter size but one thing is for sure and that is that he fears absolutely nobody on the football field. This fall, Smith has had an excellent start to his sophomore season as one of Choctaw’s best playmakers on offense. And we know he’s hungry to finish this season strong.
