I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
During Mercer Island’s week 3 game against Redmond HS, Luke was ALL over the field. He finished the game with 22 tackles (solo and assisted), which set a school record for most in a single game. The junior is just getting started, as it seems like he improves each week. He has great anticipation on the field, reading the offense well. He’s going to be extremely fun to watch the rest of this year and next.
Highlights
Lucas has had a great season so far this year for University HS. Week 3 against Post Falls HS (ID), he did a great job at covering ground and being involved in tackles throughout the night. He shed blockers off with ease, throwing them to the side frequently. His down hill speed when going towards the ball carrier is as good as anyone else. He wraps up very well, rarely letting someone with the ball by him. Lucas is a versatile player, being able to line up at different positions on the defense.

This 2025 graduate is one of the smartest players of 2025 in the state. Week 3 against Todd Beamer HS, he displayed his high football IQ throughout the night. He was patient in the pass game, waiting for the quarterback to make his decision before using his speed to wrap up the offensive player. He finished the night with 5 tackles, 2 of those being solo. He plays the offensive tackle position as well, showing off his great lateral movement and quick feet. He’s only a sophomore, so he will be improving a lot as the years go on.

This is another 2025 players who really catches my eye. I wrote about his brother Brady the other week. They are both phenomenal athletes, being able to make plays on both sides of the ball, in multiple ways. Brock ended up with about 170 total yards on offense with 2 touchdowns during his week 3 game against Archbishop-Murphy. Defensively, he was all over the field. He covered quite a bit of the field throughout the night, from wherever he lined up. His speed might be the best within the class of 2025 but what really stands out his is technique on the field. He’s precise when hitting the ball carrier, often leading to many perfectly places hits. He finished with 10 tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble.
Jabez is a top ranked linebacker in the class according to PrepRedzoneWA already. His play on the field has backed up that statement. The 6’2″ sophomore against Kennedy Catholic HS was outstanding. Often lining up at the middle linebacker position, he leads by example for his teammates as good as anyone in the state. His pursuit for the ball is relentless every play and he won’t stop until the ball carrier is down. He’s one of my favorite defensive players to watch so far this season. I can’t wait to watch his journey throughout his year and his senior year next year.
