We have QBs, RBs, WRs, and athletes who could play both ways. We have athletes who are new to me, and will be added to the rankings after the season. This week we are focusing on the upperclassmen with seven seniors, and two juniors. Make sure to give the linked highlights a look for yourself. Let’s get this article filled with recruiting steals underway.
Stats: 12 Carries, 132 Yards, 2 TDsrnWow! All you need to do is watch the first 10 seconds of Dawson’s highlights to see his next level speed. He leaves the entire field in his wake on the way to a TD. Once he accelerates there aren’t many pursuit angles that can catch him. The 5’7″ RB also demonstrates some impressive power for his size, as well as contact balance bouncing off tackle attempts. Rud’s jump cut was a lethal part of his game this week. It allowed him to make defenders miss, hit gaps at the last second, and break contain. A strong performance form the senior with one offer to UW- River Falls.
Highlights
Zach Scher
Zach Scher
Stats: 7 Receptions, 213 Yards, 2 TDsrnA new name for me is the WR/DB out of Watertown HS. Zach is a 6’1″ 165 lbs junior with 4.6 speed. That speed is a major key to his game. Watch him use it to get deep, fly right past the safety, and score a deep TD on the first play of his highlights from this week. The junior excels at taking the top off the defense. He tracks the ball well downfield, and has naturally soft hands. Scher is a big play waiting to happen out wide. His start-stop ability make shim a dangerous route runner. I’m excited to get him in the rankings. He is going to be fun to follow these next couple seasons.
Stats: 6/6, 160 yards, 3 TDs, 2 Carries, 18 Yards, 1 TD (Played 2 Quarters)rnTalk about efficiency! The 6’3″ 205 lbs senior QB scored on 50% of the plays that he didn’t hand off. Mitchell has a good, solid build for the position at the next level. He has enough athleticism to be able to move around the pocket and backfield to avoid pressure. His accuracy to every level of the field is his best trait. He can put the ball right where he want sit. Surprisingly, it doesn’t look like the signal caller holds any offers. I highly recommend giving him a look. Diamond in the rough.

Stats: 15 Carries, 85 Yards, 4 Receptions, 48 Yards, 1 TDrnDavid has been making a varsity impact since he was an underclassman. He has been doing it in the rushing and passing game, proving that he has three down abilities. The 5’10” 170 lbs junior easily plucks the ball out of the air. The junior is a decisive ball carrier. David is patient behind the line, and when he sticks his foot in the ground he attacks ahead. Fischer isn’t the biggest back, but to take his game to the next level I want to see him start generating more yards after contact. Lastly, I really like to see him be a willing blocker in the run and pass game.

Stats: 18 Carries, 264 yards, 3 TDsrnThe 5’10” 175 lbs senior took over the game for Burlington in Week Three! His acceleration through the line in his week three highlights jumps off the tape. He is moving at a different speed than everyone in the trenches around him. Every glimpse of green grass that he saw he turned into a massive gain, or TD. The electric playmaker averaged just under 15 yards per carry, and a TD every six carries. Drew’s ability to attack downhill allowed him to keep moving forward even while taking hits. Hits that the did a good job of bouncing off of for his size. Despite his speed and downhill play, there are multiple examples of his patience to allow his blocks to set up so he could make his moves off those blocks instead of just burning past them. The senior holds offers from River Falls, and Oshkosh. He can ply multiple positions at the net level.

Stats: 22/26, 369 Yards, 4 TDs
Stephen missed his junior year with injury, but he is making up for lost time with his senior campaign. The QB leads the state in passing yards through the first three weeks. The senior has a quick, prototypical release and mechanics. That paired with sufficient arm strength gave us impressive throws that were able to thread the needle, and beat defenders to spots. Pinpoint accuracy is key to Schreiter’s ability to be able to deliver those highlight dimes as well. Stephen’s accuracy and decision making were at all time highs this week highlighted by the fact that he had as many TD passes as he did incompletions. The exciting part of his game is how raw he still is. As he continues to clean up his footwork we could see a jump in his arm strength, accuracy, and mechanics. Get eyes on him ASAP.
Stats: 9 Carries, 76 Yards, 4 TDs, 3 Receptions, 25 Yards, 1 TDrnThe 6’2″ 195 lbs RB lined up all over. He played in the backfield, and in the slot. Justice took several hand offs on jet sweeps allowing him to use his speed and vision to stretch the field horizontally before cutting up field or breaking contain. Form the traditional RB position, Lovelace put his power and contact balance on display as he was able to power through arm tackles, absorb shoulder hits, and continue to move forward. His receiving TD perfectly displayed his ability to make concentration grabs in traffic. The senior is a three down back, and a diamond in the rough. I expect to see him climb the RB rankings.

Stats: 5 Receptions, 141 Yards, 1 TDrnThe 6’3″ 185 lbs receiver did a lot of his damage after the catch in Week Three. Oak Creek focused on getting him the ball quickly so he could use his speed, and elusiveness in the open field to create yards. Joey has the speed to beat angles, and he plays physical when defenders attempt to make tackles. That physicality shows up in his blocking in space also. His blocking helped lead to a first down, and big play. The highlights conclude with a display of his speed as he got behind the defense, made the catch, and won the race down the sideline. The senior has offers from Culver- Stockton, and Drake.

Stats: 3 Receptions, 91 Yards, 1 TDrnIt is quick film, but the 6’3″ 185 lbs WR is a big target who does a solid job of tracking the ball well. He fits the possession receiver profile. His size, hands, and savvy route running lead to his big plays over sheer athleticism. Hunter also contributes as a DB on defense. The football/basketball two sport athlete could be a D3 target. Ehret didn’t have 2021 film, bu the will be moved up from the watch list during our postseason update.
