Continue ReadingOffensive line play doesn’t usually get the respect of the casual fan because they are watching the football/ball carrier. The trenches are where all the magic happens, and I suggest fans watch the OL instead of the football to understand why a play will break down or break out. This week in the film room, I will focus more on linemen with a dash of skill players.
Here are the players you should watch each week.
Luke is the real deal; it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know. The best way to describe him is relentless. Montgomery is one of the best finishers on the offensive line, and his defensive skill has improved too. Luke’s football team has not gotten off to a great start with a 1 & 2 record, but Luke is still playing at a high level this season; we all expected the prep Redzone number one player in Ohio. Luke told me he would drop some mid-season highlights but until then, check out this clip.
Witten is becoming a household name in Ohio especially now that Ohio State has just sent the offer in to the 2024 prospect. Making big plays comes with ease for Witten as he scores on offense in such fashionable ways. Tight ends aren’t always looked at as the nasty player that can block but you better believe that our guy is not lacking there. When you grow up in Ohio, you always want that OSU offer and today has sent Witten’s stock all the way up with a lot of season to go. Check out this touchdown.

The 6’6 315lb guard is a load to deal with. Nave is explosive off the ball and knows how to get under the pads of the defender often. Mark is often looking to finish his blocks which is a good sign when you are looking at college prospects. Nave has the ability to be one of the top 2024 interior lineman in his Ohio class. I really enjoy watching him relentlessly attack and explode through defenders.rn
One of the most dynamic backs in Ohio hs football continues to put on a show week in and out. Powerful, graceful and has the acceleration to hit the hole and find pay dirt. Not much to say besides check my man out, he is on baller alert!

Ty Perkins Ty Perkins 6’3″ | 190 lbs | WR Ironton | 2023 State OH is a prospect that I have covered since the 2020 covid year. Perkins has always blown me away with his athletic ability and his football IQ is very high. What makes the Cincinnati commit different is that he has a great frame and a solid foundation that can be developed into All Conference talent at the D1 level. He is some film from week 2 vs. Jackson high school.
