Here are the standout performers from Week 3's action around the DMV.

2023 6'0 185 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='251380' first='Maxwell' last='Moss'] - Archbishop Spalding

Last Friday, against Gonzaga, Max Moss played one of the most dominant games in the history of DMV football. Earning a 41-21 victory, Moss hauled in 8 receptions for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns which now moves him into the top fifty for receiving yards in the nation. He is also currently the #1 ranked receiver in the area for total receiving yards at 431 yards in only four games. [player_tooltip player_id='251380' first='Maxwell' last='Moss'] is having one of the best high school football seasons in the nation right now, and scouts everywhere must be on high alert because he is absolutely a next level talent. If you have not yet watched Moss play, then there's no better time to do so than this Friday away against longtime MIAA rivals Calvert Hall @4PM Eastern. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Spalding's dynamic duo of [player_tooltip player_id='272253' first='Malik' last='Washington'] and [player_tooltip player_id='251380' first='Maxwell' last='Moss'] will create jaw-dropping magic on the field, and there's simply no question that this game will be one of epic proportion.

2023 5'9 191 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr - Archbishop Carroll

[player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr and the Carroll Lions absolutely obliterated Woodrow Wilson 79-0 last week, and Mungo Jr performed at a very elite level during Carroll's win. He rushed 10 times for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns, for an average of more than 10 yards/carry, and he also broke free on one run for more than forty yards. Mungo Jr and the Lions face a much more legitimate opponent in McDonogh this Friday @7PM Eastern at McDonogh, and there's no question that, if victorious, this would be a huge statement win for Mungo Jr and the Lions. [player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr is one of the elite running backs in the WCAC, and it wouldn't be surprising at all to see him lead his Lions squad to victory away in Owings Mill this weekend. He is absolutely a next level player.

2024 6'1 205 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='371280' first='Tovani' last='Mizell'] - DeMatha

[player_tooltip player_id='371280' first='Tovani' last='Mizell'], the University of Georgia commit, and DeMatha completely shredded Friendship Collegiate Academy's defense this past Friday. Mizell carried the ball 13 times for 105 yards and 1 touchdown, and it was clear very early on that the Stags were fully committed to running the football. Mizell earned a ton of his yards after contact, and he demonstrated the elite level toughness he posseses which will translate very well at the D1 level. There's no question that Georgia found a dawg in [player_tooltip player_id='371280' first='Tovani' last='Mizell'], pun intended, and they should be thrilled with his commitment because he is absolutely capable of developing into a top tier SEC running back. Watch [player_tooltip player_id='371280' first='Tovani' last='Mizell'] and DeMatha at home this weekend against Life Christian Academy (VA) @7PM Eastern.

2024 6'0 185 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'] - Good Counsel

The Good Counsel backfield, led by [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'], accounted for four of Good Counsel's touchdowns in this contest, and they also racked up more than 200 yards of rush attack. Jones, specifically, carried the ball 11 times for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He broke free on one of his touchdown runs for about seventy yards, and his average yardage per carry was about 13.5 yards/carry in this game. [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'] is absolutely my far too early selection for unanimous 1st Team All-WCAC RB, and, to me, he's the best uncommitted player, regardless of age, in the conference. Watch [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'] lead Good Counsel in a conference matchup against [player_tooltip player_id='264047' first='Brenton' last='Toles'] III and the St. Mary's Ryken Knights this Friday @7PM Eastern in Olney, MD.

2025 5'11 180 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='218627' first='Peyton' last='Nelson'] - Good Counsel

[player_tooltip player_id='218627' first='Peyton' last='Nelson'] rounds-out the dynamic-duo of Good Counsel's backfield in dominant fashion. Nelson has performed at an extremely elite level all season long, and he continued that high level of play this past weekend against Mt. Saint Joseph's with 12 carries 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nelson is clearly a top tier runner, and he is also a fantastic receiver out of the backfield whose yards after contact are up there with anyone's. Nelson's quickness and elusiveness really set him apart from other running backs around the DMV, and his dynamic skillset was certainly on full display in Good Counsel's dominant 52-13 victory over MTSJ. Watch elite prospect Peyton "Pey Pey" Nelson live this Friday at home against St. Mary's Ryken @7PM Eastern.
