With that being said, there are talented young men on both teams and we’re here to highlight these young men. In this article, we’re going to take a look at Batavia Standouts.

Mr. Jansey is our #1 LB here in the State of IL and is a University of Wisconsin Commit. Throughout this game, he was meeting ball carriers at the line of scrimmage as he triggered downhill in close space consistently. In one play, this young man came on a blitz through the B gap where he closed quickly to deliver a heavy hit on the QB which you can see below. He was also used on offense later in the game as a halfback where he used his skill set to get into the endzone for six. Safe to say Batavia and the University of Wisconsin are happy to have this young man holding down their defense. Twitter

Mr. Sadowsky is the second part of Batavia’s dominant linebacker core and is an Iowa State University Commit. Our #5 LB in the state and a Top 50 player got after it in run support the whole night holding down the B & C gap. Throughout the whole night, he made a handful of tackles on the perimeter not allowing the ball carrier to bounce plays outside. Twitter

Mr. Whitwell switched from the secondary to halfback this season. His skill set translates well to his new position as he has foot quicks to him to break long runs and outrun 2nd level defenders. This was seen late in the 4th when he got through the line of scrimmage and ended up getting into the endzone for six. Either as a defensive back or a halfback, this young man is one to keep an eye on this fall season. Currently holds an offer from Bemidji State University. Twitter
Mr. Boe can use his three-step drop to get the ball out quickly in the short game to stay ahead of the sticks at times. If the pocket collapses, he flashes his ability to extend plays by keeping his eyes downfield as he’s working on the move. When doing so, he’s able to find his man downfield to keep the chains moving. If there’s nobody open downfield, he does have the ability to pull the ball down to scramble to come away with net positive yards on the play. Check out the clip below of him standing strong in the pocket finding his man for a big completion downfield. Twitter

Ben Fiegel
Ben Fiegel
Mr. Fiegel is the third part of Batavia’s linebacker core that works as an outside linebacker. This young man did a good job of sniffing out the halfback screen to secure the tackle for loss on the play. This young man can also make open field tackles in run support on the perimeter after he disengages the receiver stalk block as well. Currently holds no offers but he definitely fits the mold of high-potential linebackers Batavia produces time and time again. Twitter
Charlie Whepley
Charlie Whepley
Mr. Whepley can be used in a variety of ways on offense working as a halfback as well as working out of the slot. Throughout this game, he flashes his playmaking abilities but wasn’t able to capitalize on certain moments. For example, he almost came away with a heavily contested catch on the defender’s back when running a slot fade. With that being said, he does have foot quicks to him to either get through the hole quickly as well as close space on defenders playing in off coverage. Needless to say, keep a close eye on this young man for the rest of this fall season to see his full skillset come to light. Twitter
Alec Crum
Alec Crum
Mr. Crum is a new name to me and one that made his mark late in the 4th for the Bulldogs. This young man came up with two big grabs on deep shots downfield to give Batavia momentum late in the game to get on the scoreboard. On both occasions, he secures the catch and gets vertical quickly using his long strides to gain extra yards on the play before being pushed out of bounds. I’m very interested to see how he fairs going up for 50/50 balls as he does stand at 6’3 and has a good catch radius as well. Twitter
