Minnesota's Top-25 Week 3 Individual Performances

Hello, lovely PrepRedzoneMN readers! I am pumped to be writing and publishing this weekly PRzMN feature live from the City of Brotherly Love where I am visiting a buddy from college and gearing up to watch the Vikings take on the Eagles tonight for MNF. Because I just can't get football off my mind, I wanted to fit in this quick feature before we go off and tailgate and prepare for the Kirk Cousins Show in his favorite time: primetime. It was once again another excellent week of games and matchups in this 2022 Minnesota prep football season, and with the likes of Eden Prairie, Chanhassen, Maple Grove, St. Paul Harding/Humbolt, New Ulm Cathedral, Apple Valley, and Becker pulling out big victories, along with many more teams, we are beginning to see the possible playoff pictures beginning to reveal themselves, as well as simply enjoying OT and one-score games. Between the 174 games that kicked off in Week 3/4 action last weekend, PRzMN have identified and highlighted the Top-25 Individual Performances from the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and ranked them for your enjoyment. Totaled 15 carries for 339 yards and 2 TDs in a 48-7 whoopin' of Southland High School.   2) [player_tooltip player_id='415462' first='Riley' last='Busch'] (Mountain Iron-Buhl) Senior. WR. Had a monster receiving night in a win against North Central and caught 12 passes for 240 yards and 4 TDs. He also posted 6 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a PBU on defense.   3) [player_tooltip player_id='112056' first='Max' last='Shikenjanski'] (Stillwater) Senior. QB. The Stillwater stat-monster, who is coming off a PWO offer from the Gophers, had another big night last Friday and went 16-19 for 272 yards and 4 TDs in a big win against Roseville.   4) Kaden Vig (Kittson County Central) Senior. DL. The 6'6, 235 lb. sleeper had a monster defensive night against Northern Freeze in their 14-0 victory as he tallied 13 tackles, 5 TFLs, and 2 sacks not to mention his two punts for 75 yards that both went inside the 20.   5) [player_tooltip player_id='105385' first='Azrie' last='Yeager'] (MPLS North) Senior. DL/OL. In a 56-0 throttling of North St. Paul the senior 220 lber. posted 7 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 3.5 sacks!   6) Corey Bohmert (Mahtomedi) Senior. RB/DB. In a 46-21 victory over Hill-Murray the senior rushed 13 times for 231 yards and 3 TDs, caught a pass for 21 yards, returned a kick 37 yards, and returned an INT for a TD. Also had a tackle!   7) Lukas Kuehl (Litchfield) Junior. RB. Helped his Litchfield squad earn a 27-20 victory over Glencoe-Silver Lake as he posted 28 rushes for 262 yards and 4 TDs.   8) [player_tooltip player_id='105365' first='Carter' last='Holcomb'] (Rochester Mayo) Junior. WR. Snagged 10 catches for 168 yard and 3 TDs and returned 2 kicks for 74 yards, 2 punts for 30 yards, and 2 tackles.   9) [player_tooltip player_id='19029' first='Gavin' last='Nelson'] (Simley) Senior. LB/RB. The 6'1, 220 lb. nationally ranked wrestler rushed 16 times for 163 yards and 2 TDs and added 7 tackles, a TFL, 2 FFs, and a fumble he returned for a TD. Also broke up a pass. Simley beat Hastings 39-13.   10) [player_tooltip player_id='313186' first='Alex' last='Carr'] (Park of Cottage Grove) Senior. LB. In a win at Eastview the senior thumper posted 23 tackles a TFL in what must have been a busy night defensively!   11) Jack Spiten (Winona Cotter) QB. Had a monster night in a 34-12 victory over Wabasha-Kellogg as he threw for 292 yards and 5 TDs on a 24-37 stat line.   12) [player_tooltip player_id='402074' first='Kaaleem' last='Reiland'] (Kingsland) Freshman. RB. The 2026 standout raced to 152 yards and 3 TDs on 10 carries against Southland High School for a second monster Kingsland rushing night.   13) Austan Orvedahl (Duluth East) Senior. RB. The Preseason All-State First Team pick rushed 24 times for 299 yards and 3 TDs as the Greyhounds beat Hermantown by two TDs.   14) [player_tooltip player_id='123046' first='Nathan' last='Fenske'] (Lakeview) Senior WR. The 6'2, wideout caught 4 receptions for 121 yards and 2 TDs in their high-scoring 67-28 win over MACCRAY.   15) Jakob Nachreiner (Springfield) QB. In a 42-0 shutout of Wabasso, Nachreiner went 12-13 for 261 yards and 4 TDs and added two rushes for 30 yards and a TD on the ground.   16) [player_tooltip player_id='313184' first='Sam' last='Berrey'] (Park of Cottage Grove) Senior. QB. The 6'3, 215 lb. gunslinger went off for 270 passing yards and 3 TDs in a 43-36 win against Eastview High School.   17) Chase Classen (Burnsville) Junior. DB. In a 28-24 victory over Anoka the junior posted 11 tackles and 2 INTs for a game changing night of defense.   18) [player_tooltip player_id='105379' first='Tanner' last='Zolnosky'] (East Ridge) Junior. QB. The 2024 signal-caller went 11-15 for 263 yards and 5 TDs in a beatdown of Hopkins.   19) Rees Grimsrud (Rochester Mayo) Junior. QB. In a 49-18 crosstown thumping of Century, Grimsrud went 13-18 for 222 yards and 4 TDs through the air for a big night of 507 football.   20) Carter Reinbold (Mound Westonka) Junior. QB. Scored 5 TDs and totaled over 200 yards of AP yardage in a 51-13 win over Park Center.   21) Jackson Froderman (Mankato West) Senior. RB. Rushed 17 times for 210 yards and 2 TDs as the defending 5A champs beat up on Owatonna 38-7.   22) [player_tooltip player_id='207804' first='Eliajah' last='Randle'] (Richfield) Senior. RB. Posted 92 rushing yards in a win against MPLS Southwest but added 3 TDs and an interception as well. Richfield won 41-23 and is 3-0.   23) [player_tooltip player_id='313013' first='Caleb' last='Schmiedeberg'] (East Grand Forks) Senior. RB. In a 34-7 win at Park Rapids the senior - in his first game of the season - rushed for 199 yards and 2 TDs in only a half of play.   24) Cole Anderson (West Central Area/Ashby) Senior. TE. The 6'3, 190 lb. TE caught 6 balls for 98 yards and 3 TDs against Pillager High School last weekend in a 35-13 victory.   25) [player_tooltip player_id='429408' first='Stormy' last='Knight'] (Providence Academy) Senior. RB. In a beatdown of Academy Force the senior rushed for more than 150 yards and also scored 4 TDs, all in the second half.
