Top Performers:
Jordan Koenig – Last year proved to be a strong one for Jordan as he earned himself 1st Team All League RB Honors in Class C as well as being recognized by his own team as the Player of the Year. Measuring in at 6’0, 185 pounds Jordan is a strong one cut, downhill runner with solid initial burst. He is tough to bring down especially once he gets going. Most certainly a physical blocker, he can be used at the point of attack and will bring the boom to finish his blocks just like his runs. By all means, not an extremely speedy player but his acceleration allows him to finish in the end zone once he gets in the open field. On the Defensive side Jordan is a smart, disciplined Linebacker who can set the edge. He will fight pressure with pressure and he is a dependable tackler in open space. At the next level I see him as a LB or TE/H Back type player. In my opinion he is a Division 2 NE-10 or Division 3 Empire 8 caliber talent. Against Herkimer Jordan stood out on the Offensive side with 7 carries, 91 yards and a Touchdown for the Golden Knights.
Jon Zylinsky – In 2021 Jon was a 1st Team All League RB in Class C. He is roughly 5’11, 185 pounds and is a versatile weapon for Holland Patent. Clearly he has proven himself already with his performance running the ball last year, impressing not only his teammates and coaches but also putting the rest of the league on notice. This year Jon has started off the year strong proving once again he is the Golden Knights Swiss Army Knife. During this past game against Herkimer Jon was named Offensive Player of the Game for his efforts. He had 11 carries for 114 yards and a rushing touchdown. Jon also showed out through the air with 65 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns. He is most definitely an intriguing prospect for the next level.

VVS (1-0): 14-0 Win Over Oneida (0-1)
Top Performers:
Matt Rossi – A 1st Team Class B All League LB last year for VVS, Matt led the way utilizing his big Rame of 6’1 around 200 pounds to sculpt out around 70 tackles. Matt is a versatile player with great size and strength that allows him to play your traditional LB in the tackle box as well as playing at DE setting the edge and shutting down anything coming over to his side. He led the way for the Red Devils in a bruising shutout over Oneida.
Vinny Laribee – Vinny looks to continue to build upon his success in 2021 where he was Awarded as an Honorable Mention player on the OL for VVS. He was the leader up front against Oneida, helping the team rush for just shy of 200 total yards on the night. Vinny uses his big body at 6’1, 250 pounds to get on defenders, shield them from the play and drive them off the ball. The Red Devils has a lot to look forward to this year running behind this big guy!
Next Up: VVS (1-0) vs General Brown (0-0)
Clinton (1-0): 28-6 Win Over Westmoreland (0-1)
Top Performers:
Ryan Chmielewski – Last season saw Ryan take home 2nd Team Class C All League honors. With his size at 6’3 and weighing in at 180 pounds he has shown over time to be a versatile Dual Threat QB. At the next level he projects as a perfect Empire 8 QB. Ryan has a strong pocket presence with a Big Arm and the ability to drive the ball down the field. His decision making and accuracy are exceptional. Ryan led Clinton through the air with 154 yards, 2 touchdowns and also added 18 yards on the ground.
Cameron Maline – In 2021 he was a 2nd Team Class C All League DB and has utilized his skill set already to prove he is only going to get better. Cameron isn’t the biggest guy at 5’10, 175 pounds but he is a quick, explosive, shifty player on the offensive side of the ball. He has great hands with an above average catch radius and once he is in the open field he is tough to catch. Projecting forward I can see Cameron either as a Slot, 3rd Down RB or as a CB at the next level. Schools in the NE-10 Conference and Empire 8 would be a great fit for him to showcase his abilities. He was a difference maker on both sides of the ball this past game with 6 carries, 103 yards rushing, 1 touchdown, 5 catches, 96 yards receiving, 2 touchdowns and also added 1 punt return touchdown to his total. On the defensive side he also added 10 tackles. Cameron showed his all around versatility and ability for Clinton this past week.
Next Week: Clinton (1-0) at Bishop Ludden (0-0)
