Last week, they defeated Lakota East 71-0. This season, they have averaged 53.3 points per game on offense and have given up 12 points per game on defense with 2 shutouts. Hamilton is 3-1 and last week, they defeated Middletown 17-0. this season, they have averaged 20.25 points per game on offense and have given up 11.25 points per game on defense. There are several great players on both teams and here are five of those players to keep an eye on during the game.
Caleb plays as a CB. Against the pass, he does a great job of keeping everything in front of him in off coverage. He puts himself in good position to make a play and times his hands perfectly to disrupt the trajectory of the ball for a PBU. He quickly reads and reacts to screen plays, shows excellent closing speed in pursuit and exhibits rare explosiveness as he makes a huge hit as soon as the receiver catches the ball for no gain. Against the run, he takes good angles in pursuit, plays with good leverage before making the tackle preventing a gain of significant yardage.
Dorian plays as an XWR. He shows good play speed while displaying quality football intelligence as he reads the coverage and finds the soft spot in zone. He displays very good hands with a great catch radius that enables him to make the catch on passes throw high. After the catch, he displays good contact balance as he breaks tackles from DB and uses his good play speed to score on a long touchdown reception. He plays with good mental toughness as he is very reliable in the redzone.
Phillip Daniels
Phillip Daniels
Phillip plays as a LT. While run blocking, he displays excellent lateral quickness and agility as he quickly moves to the inside. He displays elite play strength as he delivers a powerful punch to the DT sending him to the ground with ease. In pass pro, he sets up vertically and keeps his feet moving. He uses his good arm length and hand use to strike the frame of the DE and effectively uses his excellent play strength and physical toughness to negate the progress of the DE as he keeps the QB clean.
Lanny plays as a MLB. Against the run, he quickly reads run/pass and uses his good instincts to take the correct angle in pursuit. He plays with good range and closing speed as he makes the tackle outside the tackle box behind the LOS for a TFL. Against the pass, he uses his good play speed to penetrate the A gap. He quickly reaches the QB before finishing up with a sack. In coverage, he quickly drops back while effectively reading the QB. He times his hands well to come away with a PBU.
Kaden Bennett
Kaden Bennett
Kaden plays as a DE. Against the run, he displays good quickness and agility or his very good use of hands and play strength to shed the OT block as he penetrates the LOS into the backfield. He quickly locates the ball carrier before using his very good play strength to make the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL. Against the pass, he uses his very good play strength to shed the block. He plays with a good motor in pursuit and is able to force the QB into passing the ball earlier than anticipated.
