As the list of incoming sophomores continues to grow, the current focus is to shine a light on the talented young players who have impressed onlookers during the past calendar year.
This article will break down the top five-ranked quarterbacks in the 2025 class.
Modrzewski is an outstanding quarterback with a high football IQ. He is great in the pocket and has the ability to connect on throws on every level. His potential of being one of the top passers in the state is much more likely now that he no longer has to split reps with a senior. Mountain Vista is a young team with a significant amount of talented athletes, giving Modrzewski a ton of weapons to work with as the Golden Eagles look to continue their standing as a playoff team.
Highlights
Birch became one of the class’s better game managers during his freshman season. His ability to learn and immediately develop is extremely impressive. He has a strong arm and solid understanding of his receivers, allowing him to adjust his timing and ball placement to his intended target. Birch will enter his sophomore year as the returning starter, making him an experienced QB with a reasonably high ceiling.

Cooper is entering a very bright spotlight this season, especially now that Pine Creek has jumped from 4A to the 5A classification. He has a strong arm and phenomenal playmaking abilities that will give his team an edge in their introductory season. Cooper will arguably be one of the more heavily watched starting sophomore QBs this season because of his potential to be one of the top shot callers in the state.
Highlights
Noblitt is a talented player who has gained significant popularity as a young prospect. There is no question about his arm strength as he can rifle the ball into tight windows on intermediate throws and hit his receiver in stride on deep bombs. His footwork in the pocket is impressive, and he possesses the athleticism to roll out and throw on the run. Noblitt has moved over to Vista Ridge, where he will be coming up with some of the state’s more talented young receiving cores, putting him in a prime position to solidify himself as one of the top QBs in his class.
Highlights
Worley is a player coasting slightly beneath the surface of the radar with the potential of emerging as one of the top QB prospects in his class. He is entering his sophomore year as the JV starter for the second consecutive season, where he will be looking to continue his reign as one of the more dominant young passers in the state. He has a solid frame with a big-time arm and the athletic abilities of a power runner when he tucks the ball. Worley is QB2 behind one of the state’s best senior shot callers, but he is on his way to carving out his legacy as a top-tier QB.
