Continue ReadingWeek Two went above and beyond to give us even more impressive performances than Week One. Performances that threatened records, carried the load for teams, and made the athlete stand out from the crowd. Today, we are going to dive into the film of those top performances. The goal each week is to provide new names every week so we can provide as much coverage as we can. Of course the athlete need to put up the performances to earn a spot, but we will be doing what we can to provide a new collection of talent every week. With that, let’s get started!
Stats: 36 Carries, 470 Yards, 6 TDsrnI could tell after a week one dominating performance that I would have a hard time picking which Stang performance I would want to highlight. Fast forward five days and he left me no choice but to dive into his Week Two performance. Stang’s performance is the second most productive single game performance in WI history. He doesn’t have the film up, but based on the clips from the game on Twitter it is clear that his vision, decisiveness, and speed have keyed his success. I mentioned in the intro that I am trying to highlight each kid no more than once, but if you set a record I will make an exception. So, we may not have seen the last from the off the charts productive Mukwonago RB.

Stats: 18/30, 305 Yards, 5 TDsrnThe junior put a little bit of everything on tape in his outstanding Week Two performance. He and his team played in what looked like the game of the week. Unfortunately, they lost in OT, but Finnley left little doubt that he is a talented junior QB prospect. He delivered passes accurately while on the run. He used his athleticism to buy time in the pocket and outside it. His touch stood out on multiple plays, and he was able to put solid velocity on the ball. Finnley’s command of the offense is clear as he was very decisive in his decisions, and wen through his progressions when he needed to do so. Lastly, I was impressed with how well he attacked all three levels of the defense. We are in the midst of a breakout season for the junior.
Week 2: Proud of how we fought back from 28-7 to take the lead in OT.

Stats: 12 Carries, 189 Rushing Yards, 2 TDs, 2 Receptions, 23 Receiving YardsrnThe 6’5′ 210 lbs WR is proving that he can do i tall. He led the state in receiving yards last week. This week he took a different role, and took over on the ground. In a wild cat role, JJ showed off his vision, power to break through tackles, and his ability to set up and follow blocks. The same strengths that he shows after the catch when he is out wide at his natural position of receiver. Douglas also has some surprising wiggle and elusiveness that really shined on his first screen reception. Sprinkle in some impactful downfield blocks and you get a very strong display of his traits this week.

Stats: 10/13, 222 Yards, 3 TDs, 12 Carries, 86 YardsrnMason put together an impressive performance in a big matchup with Union Grove. At our Prep Redzone WI Showcase back in May Mason stood out with his athleticism. That was a strength in his game last Friday, but where he really impressed me was with his throwing. Mason delivered the ball from some awkward angles, and on the run. When he got his chance to sling it with his feet set Prozanski demonstrated an arm that could stretch the field with velocity. When his guys came open he fired it to get the ball there well before the defense could. Mason is a junior so he isn’t seeing any recruitment right now, but make sure to check him out. He also has OLB listed as a position he plays. Versatile athlete to know.

Stats: 8 Carries, 132 Yards, 4 Rushing TDs, 1 Passing TDrnMatt is going to be a riser in the rankings at the end of the season if he keeps putting together weeks like this. From the QB position, Collicott took over the game on the ground. His play on the read option took over the game. His 4.75 speed allowed him to pull away easily in the open field. Matt is an explosive athlete, and when he was given a seam he capitalized on it to the tune of 165. yards per carry. I don’t believe the senior has any offers, but he has what it takes to play at the next level. I project him as a safety.
Game 2 win 42-7.

Stats: 73 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing TDs, 6 Receptions, 116 Yards, 1 TD, 1 Game Winning 2-Pt ConversionrnThis game perfectly exemplifies why I believe Najeh can become a third down/change of pace back at a very high level of college football. Najeh is blessed with elite athleticism both in short area quickness and long speed. Mitchell demonstrated that he can line up out wide and get open against DBs. He is a true matchup nightmare. On the ground, Najeh’s ability to see things develop in front of him and react quicker than everyone around him allows him to set up defenders and make them miss with ease. We also got to see his clutch finish as he powered his way in for the game winning two point conversion. I have been pounding the table for the talented RB. Great to see that the D2 level is heavily pursuing him. The senior is just getting warmed up.

Stats: 256 Rushing Yards, 4 TDs, 18 Receiving Yards, 1 TDrnThe 6′ 200 lbs athlete is a talented safety, but he makes the Top Performers for his offensive work this week. Avery has a balanced attack at the RB position. He can stretch the field horizontally, find the hole, accelerate through it and win the race to the endzone. He can carry it between the tackles, run behind his pads, and pick up tough yards while breaking tackles. He quickly identifies leverage that defenders have when coming up on him and attacks the leverage. I firmly believe that Avery can play either side of the ball at the next level. Definitely a senior to know!

Stats: 6 Receptions, 71 Yards, 1 TD, 3 Carries, 41 Yards, 1 TDrnHunter is one of the safeties to know among the underclassmen, but he also does damage on offense for Altoona. That is what we are going to look at today. The 6’1″ 180 lbs sophomore has 4.8 speed, and Altoona used it to attack the edges of the Osseo defense. Hunter’s ball skills make him dangerous as a safety and as a receiver out of the backfield. The route on his highlights had the defender spinning in a circle looking for him. Keep track of the young playmaker’s development.

Stats: 9 Carries, 176 Rushing Yards, 4 TDs, 1 Half PlayedrnMy thoughts on the 6’2″ 227 lbs at LB are well documented. What i haven’t done is look at the big man as a ball carrier. In week two he couldn’t have been more efficient. Nearly half his carries went to the house as he broke off an average of 19.5 yards per carry. His 1.54 10 yard split shows up as he has surprising burst for a kid his size. Burst that also makes him a scary LB to face. His week two highlights look unfair. He is clearly the most talented athlete on the field. The senior holds one D2 offer, so far. That is due to change as coaches start to take in his recent senior film. He is one of the 10 best uncommitted LBs in the state without question.
