Gauderman, who played football around 225 lbs, is wrestling in the D3 285 lbs bracket. He earned his spot in the finals with a quick pin in the Semifinals.
If you have followed Prep Redzone for awhile then you know how highly we think of David on the football field. He dominated his senior season from the RB and LB positions, and the jack of all trades has committed to continue his football career at Duluth. Big things ahead for David.

The top prospect of the game was David. The 6’2″ 235 lbs LB/RB easily stood out from the crowd with his size and his play. On defense, David was impressive in how quickly he diagnosed plays and moved with the flow of the line to be able to get to the hole the same time as the RB; sometimes before leading to TFLs. Despite him being the focus of the blocking, David was able to navigate the trash between the tackles well. He closed quickly, and was a very sound tackler.
On offense, David impressed me. I do believe he is a better LB prospect, but he demonstrated his power well, and he made some impressive plays. His best was on a play that didn’t count due to penalty, but he made a catch while being hit by an LB. He completed the catch, played through the hit, and picked up 20+ yards. Gauderman has that next level strength, size, and athleticism. He needs far more looks than he currently has.

Stats: 9 Carries, 176 Rushing Yards, 4 TDs, 1 Half PlayedrnMy thoughts on the 6’2″ 227 lbs at LB are well documented. What i haven’t done is look at the big man as a ball carrier. In week two he couldn’t have been more efficient. Nearly half his carries went to the house as he broke off an average of 19.5 yards per carry. His 1.54 10 yard split shows up as he has surprising burst for a kid his size. Burst that also makes him a scary LB to face. His week two highlights look unfair. He is clearly the most talented athlete on the field. The senior holds one D2 offer, so far. That is due to change as coaches start to take in his recent senior film. He is one of the 10 best uncommitted LBs in the state without question.
