2029 Rankings Update: The Best Newcomers

We have added a huge wave of talent that has pushed the number of ranked players from 99 up to 156. All those new names and faces have created a ton of movement within the rankings, giving it a whole new look from top to bottom. Those dozens of new additions are our focus here as we dive into the tape of the top newcomers to discuss how they earned their spot among the best in the Class. Coaches, these are going to be athletes you need to get on your radars today if they aren't already. They are special, special players and will not only impact the WI HS football landscape over the coming years, but also potentially be program cornerstones at the college level when that time comes. Let's dive into these new names and faces!    What an absolute monster we have here in the Muskego DL and new #1 Edge/DL in the Class of 2029. Zander is clearly a dedicated athlete based off the elite frame he has already built and filled out early in his HS career. The 6'4" 240 lbs DL not only has a prototypical frame to dominate on the edge, the tape highlights the athletic tools as well.   Right from the start of his tape we see his elite ability to play with a low pad level and slide laterally to avoid blocks and then accelerate through gaps. He is so quick to close and violent with his tackling. The football IQ and coaching shines as well as he makes sure to not take himself out of plays when he is left unblocked. The quickness out of his stance shows up on every rep, allowing him to only need to beat half a man because of the way he is able to win the positioning and leverage battle. Zander checks so many boxes and looks the part of WI's next up and coming defensive star talent. I for one am fired up to see how he looks this fall after an offseason of further development and growth. Big things ahead for Zander if he can continue his dedication to his craft like he has so far.      The IDL out of St. Thomas More has me fired up for his future. This offseason we have seen the 2029 DL put out clips from camps where he has been able to show his dominance compared to his 2029 peers. Hank has built a stout, and powerful frame at 6'1" 265 lbs. The way he can fire out of his stance with instant power and leverage allowed him to effectively bull rush and shed blocks. He already is a natural using his hands to create separation from the OL that he can utilize to get around his opponent.   We are seeing power, quickness, and technique come together for the St. Thomas More IDL. If his summer success is any indicator, we are in store for some impressive sophomore tape from the big man. Keep a close eye on this dude, coaches.     Racine Case has an outstanding CB talent on their roster in 2029 [player_tooltip player_id='2255863' first='Khyree' last='Brumby']. The 2029 was able to earn varsity action right away in Week 1 thanks to those special talents. Turn on the tape and you see a 5'11" 155 lbs freshman who was as quick, fluid, and fast as the seniors on Friday nights, if not more. Khyree has developed very quick feet and fluid hips that have allowed him to either run with a receiver or quickly read, react, and close from zone coverage on the football.   I love that the 2029 CB plays fearless too. The moment is never too big for him. He also shows zero hesitation when he needs to fly downhill and make a tackle against the run for little to no gain. His ball skills leap off the screen clip after clip too. Khyree is such a natural at finding the ball, adjusting to it, and timing when to jump or undercut a route. This kid has the talent to be on an island with a WR and leave them stranded. Take a look at his tape!      Next up we have one of my favorite two way athletes. Balin contributes at the RB and LB position for Lodi, a school that has built a ton of success with versatile athletes just like Balin over the years. The 6'2" 185 lbs 2029 has the frame for either side of the ball and the gifts within his athleticism and physicality traits.   When you get a kid with this size and physicality at such a young age they may tend to lean on those gifts. That isn't the case here. Balin has the smooth athleticism to be a three down LB who can effectively drop into coverage and create turnovers. He can also get the edge at RB and win the race to the corner of the endzone. That pairs perfectly with his physical side. The side that can power through blocks or grind out the tough yards at RB with some steady leg drive through contact. The 2029 has shown really good instincts on both sides of the ball too. He is a natural athlete who is well on his way to developing into a game-changing two-way talent at the varsity level.      Our top newcomer at the QB position is the dual threat out of Watertown. I have quickly become a big fan of the 2029 signal caller once his tape hit my radar earlier this offseason. The 6' 160 lbs athlete is growing into the job, and while doing so we haven't seen that size cost him on the field. When it comes to arm talent Aiyden is among the best in his Class. He is a natural at using his technique to generate the velocity needed to attack every level of the field. The tape has plenty of examples of the strong ability to control ball placement as well.   The impressive arm talent is just part of what makes Parr- Mitchell so impressive. His athleticism is a big factor to his game. Within the pocket the 2029 is able to move swiftly and suddenly to buy time and avoid pressure. Plus he has the speed to buy time outside the pocket. You don't have to watch long into the tape to see how effectively he can buy time and make defenders miss when they have a free shot. This kid is demonstrating a special, innate ability to make the unreal play look easy and common. Impressive talent. Dive into the tape below!      This is a freight train compared to his fellow 2029s on the football field. His 6'1" 210 lbs frame stands out from the crowd and so does the athleticism and physical dominance. That big frame is tough to drag down when he has the ball in his hands. In 2029 we saw him get involved on the ground and through the quick passing game. Basically any way they can get him the ball quickly so that he can impose his will on defenders and make plays.   His size and strength at his age are at excellent points and he has the athleticism needed to dominate at his positions. I'm very excited to see updated tape from the Merrill athlete. He is a high ceiling player.     When it is all said and done, this might be just the launching point for the Menomonie OT. Hunter hit our radar when he attended the UWEC Big Man Camp in early June. He is a kid that passes the eye test, standing at 6'5" 275 lbs with long arms. He looks like a kid with a very high ceiling.   The reason I say this could be his launching point is because his breakout is imminent. He has the size necessary to be a top tier talent. Now is the time for him to show that the athleticism and flexibility needed to be that type of talent has developed this offseason. If he takes a leap in that part of his game then we will instantly see him move into that Top 15 range. He is at a program in Menomonie that is no stranger to developing top talent. So I'm excited to see what is to come from the big man over these next few years.     Speaking of programs that know how to develop talent, next up we have the DL out of Kimberly. Titus is another athlete who put himself on our radar during camp season. The 6'3" 210 lbs athlete attended our spring PRZ WI Showcase and instantly stood out with his long, lean frame. A frame that will surely continue to fill out in that highly competitive Kimberly weight room.   On the field the natural tools stood out from the crowd. He is able to get hands on a lock out to create separation and then use his quick burst and feet to quickly get to the heels of the OL. This is an exciting athlete who can quickly find himself among the best in this Class when the 2026 tape starts coming out. He has the length and the quickness necessary to dominate. Time for him to prove it.     This was an exciting to newcomer to watch the tape of. Brian is a 6' 180 lbs WR with 4.7 40 speed and 4.28 shuttle quickness and agility. The '29 WR was involved in a lot of 7 on 7 this offseason, and what stood out most was his ability to go up and get the football and be able to contort his body in the air to be in position to secure the catch. Securing the catch looked easy with his strong hands.   When he wasn't securing catches downfield and in traffic, the 2029 was showing that he could also get open with quick route running on underneath routes. Brian already has a solid frame for the WR position, and that ability to make catches in traffic is very valuable. Add in the developing route running and we are looking at a potential highly skilled WR by the time he is a senior. Keep a close eye on him.     We wrap up with an explosive WR out of Oshkosh. The 5'11" 175 lbs [player_tooltip player_id='2207790' first='Traeven' last='Seely'] is coming off a freshman season that highlighted his playmaking abilities. The '29 flashed his speed over and over while ripping off long receptions and weaving through coverage units for kickoff return TDs. The '29's 4.62 40 speed jumps off the tape compared to his peers. Traeven's tape shows over and over how well he attacks the ball at the high point where the DB wasn't able to meet him to contest.   The speed was a big factor in his ability to effectively play DB as well. So were his instincts as he was able to sit back and diagnose plays in an efficient manner. Seely is no newcomer to creating big plays. I'm excited to see what he is able to do this fall.
