He's a smooth, quick-twitch athlete that can make plays around the ball from both WR and DB spots. He can challenge secondaries downfield with his straight-line speed and ball-skills at the catch point. He's an undersized athlete at 5'9" but shows competitiveness tackling from his CB spot and competing with bigger receivers on the outside. Daley will be a player to keep an eye on for his athleticism and playmaking ability.

https://twitter.com/tijani_daley/status/1534371826838683648?s=20&t=tqoKX-J6tvzT8TlqW7yXow

Elijah Muniz- FB, 2023

Muniz is a massive ball-carrier with rare movement and athleticism for his size. He carried the ball 43 times for 6 TDs as a junior. He's extremely difficult to tackle in space with his size/strength and should handle the majority of short-yardage/goal-line work. He was effective leaking into the flat with ability to catch-and-run in space on short routes. He's a strong blocker in the run game that can lead-block in space and seal lanes for HBs on the outside. Muniz possesses a unique combination of size and skillset that could attract FCS interest in the fall.

https://twitter.com/ElijahMuniz44/status/1558302989999214592?s=20&t=tqoKX-J6tvzT8TlqW7yXow

Jacob Muniz- QB, 2023

San Gabriel returns its senior QB that led the team to a 9-3 finish last season. He can spread the ball around and distribute with accuracy. He can push the ball downfield with adequate arm strength and put the ball in spots outside the numbers. He shows good footwork in the pocket and ability to move outside the tackles and throw on the run. Muniz's connection with [player_tooltip player_id='329714' first='Tijani' last='Daley'] will be imperative to San Gabriel's offense this season.

https://twitter.com/EncinasCoach/status/1558507687981199360?s=20&t=tqoKX-J6tvzT8TlqW7yXow

Robert Lucero- RB, 2023

Lucero returns as San Gabriel's leading rusher from a season ago that totaled over 1,500 rushing yards and 18 TDs on 183 carries. He's a fast, slippery ball-carrier in space that can make defenders miss and shows strong balance through contact. He's an explosive playmaker in the run game that can break open long runs and pick up yards after contact. Lucero should build off his strong senior season and be one of the top offensive producers in the Almont League.

Junior Highlights

Aaron Hampton- OL, 2023

Hampton figures to be the anchor for San Gabriel's OL unit as the returning C from last season. He's a physical presence in the run game that can drive interior DL off the ball and open lanes inside. He shows a strong upper body and good hand placement as a run blocker. Look for Hampton to be a leader in the trenches as a senior.

https://twitter.com/aaronxtdoor/status/1543278729463336960?s=20&t=tqoKX-J6tvzT8TlqW7yXow

Xavier Salido- LB, 2024

Salido came on strong in his sophomore season at ILB. He's an active, athletic tackler that can tackle in space and track down ball-carriers on the edge. He can avoid blocks between the tackles and covers middle zone well. Salido should be one of the top tacklers for San Gabriel's defense this season.

Sophomore Highlights

More to Watch:

Matthew Garcia- OL, 2023

Raul Garibay- OL, 2023

Ivan Can- DB, 2022

Joshua Uribe- DT, 2022

Preston Ortega- ATH, 2022

Adam Mascorro- RB, 2026

Louie Navarro- LB/RB, 2026

Previewing San Gabriel's talented returning cast that helped lead the team to a 9-3 finish in 2021. Tijani "TJ" Daley and Robert Lucero are top playmakers on offense heading into the season and Xavier Salido is a standout LB for the defense. Their week 2 game against Pasadena Poly should be a good early test for San Gabriel.
