<p>The 2022 Football season is upon us. High Schools from all around the state are now starting to practice and will take the field for their first official games in a couple of weeks. We are listing the top programs in the state and identifying the players within them. Here are the Maryland 4A Preseason State Rankings</p>

<h2>6. Northwest High School </h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 11-2</p>

<p>The Jags finished the season 11-2 and made it to the State Semi- Finals before losing to the eventual champ, Quince Orchard, by one point. The offense led by RB [player_tooltip player_id='358652' first='Antonio' last='Berry'] and Monmouth commit, TE [player_tooltip player_id='321263' first='Marcus' last='Middleton'], averaged close to 35 points per game and scored over 40 points in 5 of their games. A defense that yielded an average of less than 10 points per game and pitched 6 shutouts in 2021, will be led by DB [player_tooltip player_id='279164' first='Anthony' last='Gengarella'] and DL [player_tooltip player_id='263187' first='Xavier' last='Rivers'].</p>

<h2>7. Paint Branch High School</h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 8-2</p>

<p>The Panthers finished 8-2 in 2021 and lost in the 2nd Round of the Playoffs to Northwest by a touchdown. The defense will be the heart and soul of the team, and return LB [player_tooltip player_id='359393' first='Elrenton' last='Andrews'], Ath [player_tooltip player_id='325288' first='Dinso' last='Okafor'], DB [player_tooltip player_id='358656' first='Nick' last='Spikes'], and DL [player_tooltip player_id='372447' first='Marcus' last='Ogbogu'].</p>

<h2>8. Bowie High School </h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 8-3</p>

<p>Bowie finished 8-3 last season and lost in the 2nd Round of the Stat Playoffs to Flowers, in what was one of the highest scoring games of the year. Bowie had one of the more explosive offenses last season, averaged close to 39 points per game, and scored over 40 points in 7 of their games. However, the defense will be equally as deadly this season as they return a very strong group with the likes of DL [player_tooltip player_id='369171' first='Sultan' last='Badmus'], DB [player_tooltip player_id='322025' first='Christopher' last='Gill'], LB [player_tooltip player_id='260221' first='Chris' last='McGraw'], and Ath [player_tooltip player_id='279148' first='Onyx' last='Cece'].</p>

<h2>9. Roosevelt High School</h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 7-4</p>

<p>Roosevelt finished the season 7-4 before being stopped in the 2nd Round of the State Playoffs by State Runner Up, Wise. The offense scored just under 30 points per game and will lead the way for Raiders, who also return a defensive core that only allowed 12.7 points per game. </p>

<h2>10. North Point High School </h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 7-4</p>

<p>North Point finished 7-4 last season before losing in the State Quarterfinal to eventual 3A/ 4A State Champion, Mervo. Linebackers [player_tooltip player_id='163393' first='Kyree' last='Wimberly'] and [player_tooltip player_id='374309' first='Jerbauri' last='McFadden'] return to lead a defense that gave up 17.6 points per game and held teams to less than 2 touchdowns in 7 of their games. </p>
