East High Title or Bust Mentality (’22 Season Preview)
When you've produced some of the top football players over the past several years like University of Maine's starting RB Freddie Brock and University of Oregon starting WR Seven McGee. You know East is a program that will always have some of the top athletes not only in Monroe County but all of Section V and NYS. And although the 2021 fall season was a rebuilding one for the Eagles of East High School (Rochester, NY) it helped a lot of younger guys get valuable experience that should help them thrive in 2022 and beyond. Although 2021 was a rebuilding year for the Eagles they finished the season with a 6-3 and made it to the Section V Class A2 Semi finals where they were defeated by a strong Spencerport team. With the kind of showing with a very young roster Head Coach Steve Flagler and his staff have every reason to believe that this 2022 group of East High Eagles have all the ingredients to make a run at a Section V Championship this fall. Coach Flagler simply had this to say on his teams upcoming expectations this season: "Championship." And now with experience and a couple Eagles holding D1 Group of 5 offers East should be a team every opponent has circled with the talent and athleticism they poses, along with being battle tested last year.
